The Charger Daytona SRT doesn't have a V8, but it sounds like it does

Dodge reveals first electric muscle car...Dodge Charger Daytona SRT coming in 2024
The streets of The Windy City will be filled with the roar of V8 engines when NASCAR comes to town this summer, but things are already loud at the Chicago Auto Show.
Dodge brought its Charger Daytona SRT Banshee electric concept to the event and is showing off its unique "exhaust" system.
The production version of the battery-powered coupe is set to replace all of Dodge's V8-powered sports cars next year, but it is equipped with a couple of features to keep the classic muscle car experience alive.
Along with a multi-speed transmission that's not actually necessary for an electric car, but provides the physical impact of powerful gear changes under acceleration, the car also has something Dodge calls the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust.

So that’s what that button does on my dash!..................I’ve never used it...............
Unlikely to ever buy an electric automobile. However if I did, one thing I’d expect from it is silence. Not fake motor noises.
Dodge Charger, eh? A “General Lee” musical horn audio file playing “Dixie” in a loop would be quite the attention-getter. < evil grin >
Yesterday while driving past a Honda dealership my wife pointed out there were 3 used tesla’s for sale.....I thought they were a hot commodity 🤔
They are starting to turn up on used car lots here as well.
When the batteries start to charge less and less the owners trade them in.
Only an ignorant fool would buy a used EV..............
A new one as well IMO 😁
My youngest son and I saw the debut of this at the Detroit Auto Show last fall. When the spokesmodel got in and rev’d it on the turntable the crowd actually giggled and shook their heads…
The ones I see here are mostly from Destin, a wealthy little town.
These are people who are mostly retired and also have a ICE vehicle for longer trips.
The EV is for ‘status’.....................
“No way I would give up my ICE cars, but having an EV is enjoyable.”
Absolutely true.
For everyday driving it’s superior to an ICE car. But like any tool, it doesn’t do everything.
Long trips, towing, etc. are for ICE vehicles.
Until they can work out the charging time and range issues I’m out.......not to mention that spontaneous combustion bug.
The next big ringtone craze. “Exhaust” tone.
Yes, charge fully in 10 minutes or less, Go for 300-400 miles per charge and don’t burn my house down when doing it....................
Uh, nope. Nothing like a cammed up 426 hemi and open headers idling toward the start line. Boss ain’t gonna cut it. 🔊
I guess this is one of the new transmotors I’ve been hearing about. As I understand it, they are electric since birth, but feel like they should have fire-breathing V8 engines. Modern technology has created a means of compensation so the displacement-challenged won’t become triggered at the sound of a revving hemi. Their cylinder-envy drives them to such extremes. Pitiful.
Someone will hack the system and put in the sound of a two-stroke chainsaw................
Now that would be awesome.
Next they’ll build a Harley with a looped recording of some guy saying potato over and over on the bike.

The replacement battery costs more than the car is worth.
Or a Honda 125 wound up tight.
