McPlant Nuggets __ made from peas, corn and wheat with a tempura batter __ are the second product McDonald’s has co-developed with Beyond Meat, an El Segundo, California-based maker of plant-based meats. McDonald’s has been selling a McPlant burger since 2021.

McDonald’s said the nationwide nugget rollout to more than 1,400 restaurants in Germany follows a limited-time test at nine restaurants in the Stuttgart area in August. McDonald’s will also start selling the McPlant burger in Germany next week.

Availability of the McPlant nuggets and burger in future markets will depend on customer demand, McDonald’s said.

The McPlant burger is now a permanent menu item in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria and the Netherlands. Last month, McDonald’s rolled out the Double McPlant burger in the U.K. and Ireland.

But in the U.S., McDonald’s ended a test of the McPlant burger last summer without announcing any future plans for its sale.

I remember McDonald's back in the 1970s when it was like dining out at the finest supper-club or restaurant. I mean, the food was just so addicting, and we would literally fight over the fries as kids.

That's when I learned about how lard and animal fats were demonized when they were actually more healthier and taste better for you than crap like vegetable oil.

“I remember McDonald’s back in the 1970s..”

1970’s hell...I remember it in the 1950’s with .25 cent hamburgers! Or maybe it was .15 cents!

Almost anything ‘tastes good’ for the first bite, when it has a tempura coating, even
Caulking Glue. By the time the true taste of the contents has been revealed, it’s already ground up and stuck in your molars.

McDonald's in 1971 was likely mostly good. Real hamburger was used. French fries were cooked in beef fat tallow and milkshakes were made with real milk.

Not so today.

I remember around Thanksgiving 1974 they had their 20th anniversary with hamburgers for the original 1950s price. I recall it was 15 cents.

The food was just phenomenal back then. If McDonald’s brought those back and eliminated half of their menu, even bringing back the Styrofoam containers, they would rule.
