I remember McDonald's back in the 1970s when it was like dining out at the finest supper-club or restaurant. I mean, the food was just so addicting, and we would literally fight over the fries as kids.
That's when I learned about how lard and animal fats were demonized when they were actually more healthier and taste better for you than crap like vegetable oil.

1970’s hell...I remember it in the 1950’s with .25 cent hamburgers! Or maybe it was .15 cents!

McDonald's in 1971 was likely mostly good. Real hamburger was used. French fries were cooked in beef fat tallow and milkshakes were made with real milk.
Not so today.

I mean, the food was just so addicting, and we would literally fight over the fries as kids. My first job was at the 2nd McDonald's in Maine (mid 1960s). I made milk shakes and fries. I loved the fries. The grille seemed to be the domain of the culinary students at the local tech college.
