Taylor Sheridan can really write a good script. We loved ‘Yellowstone’ but have become more disappointed as his story lines have strayed so much from the origins of it being about a FAMILY - no matter how dastardly they are.
Not sure how he keeps up the pace and quality with so many irons in the fire.
(See what I did there? LOL!)
Alright, Alright, Alright
I think it’s more about time than money. Costner wants time to do other projects. He probably never counted on Yellowstone lasting so long and now he may feel too hemmed in.
There’s a “6666” spinoff in the works, based on the “four-six” ranch in Texas, introduced on Yellowstone. More focused on rodeo life. McConaughey would be perfect for that.
I’ve been enjoying, “1923,”so far, even though (or perhaps because) it seems to be heavily inspired by “Legends of the Fall.” The latest episode seemed a little predictable, but I’ll ride it out and hope it gets some energy back in the next episode.
Why doesn’t Paramount (and the rest of Hollywood) come up with a new idea instead of what appears to be an instant remake of a successful series that has run its course? Oh, excuse me, not remake, “franchise extension”.
They should call it ‘Utah’ or something like ‘Wyoming’ — It’s not filmed in Montana (with the exception of a few special ‘scenes’ filmed on a Montana reservation).
It reminds me of ‘Dallas’ — they would occasionally check in with a cousin who lived in Billing, MT — and the scene would be a dirt main street with old wooden buildings and horses tied up outside said buildings...everyone had a cowboy hat, a six shooter and a vest.
Obviously I’m not a fan...
Kevin Coster is 68 y/o, a little older than I am.
He is double-rich with a net worth of at least $320 Million.
He doesn’t need this job, and probably does it more as a hobby and time filler than a career move.
Costner has proved to himself and hollywood that he can still
rock the boat of show business culture and show a profit.
He may be bored with the routine by now, ready to saddle up the next ‘Wild Horse’.
Sheridan isn’t going to be hijacked by the male version of Barbara Streisand.
Somebody said it somewhere, and I’m paraphrasing, but I think it went something like this:
“You’re fired.”
I thought that Beto wannabe, if that’s even possible, was getting ready to run for office.
I've seen clips of "Yellowstone" on YouTube and hope to check out the full series sometime. I don't have any streaming services other than Amazon Prime and no cable TV. So limited in what I can stream.
The clips I've seen look pretty good, especially the characters Beth and Rip.
Love the show, but i hate Summer Higgins and John Dutton hooking up.
Shoulda left him with the Senator.
I think it’s because it’s turned into a soap opera.
This season has been a mess of scenes where anyone with a brain says, “Really?”
It was bad enough where they would murder people in the same place for decades, dump them off the side of the road…and drive away. Over and over again. At least take them away from the road for God’s sake.
Now the adult daughter of the Governor is getting into bar fights.
I don’t blame Costner for getting sick of it.
6666 and any other spinoff is going to have difficulty maintaining viewership because it will be missing the most important element of Yellowstone and that’s the ranch itself, set in Montana’s Paradise Valley, which I can attest is one of the most beautiful places on earth. 6666 won’t have the land wars, like Yellowstone and anybody’s who’s been to Texas will tell you it’s just a whole lot of empty land. No mountains, no forests, no massive valleys. Anybody taking over Yellowstone who isn’t a Dutton won’t have the connection to the land that makes it so special to them.
Schedule probably plays in. He’s a movie guy. TV show shoot schedules are a grind. And apparently he’s got a thing he wants to do. Hard to do around a 65 shoot day schedule.
1883 lost me when when they had Elsa Dutton talking like a stoned Millennial who couldn’t figure out which bathroom to use.
Is Alex Baldwin available.
