Nightclubs?
To: Libloather
The council unanimously approved the "padlock" ordinance on Thursday, which gives the city’s police department the ability to begin the shuttering process for businesses that knowingly and repeatedly harbor crime. I see where this is headed: If a convenience store gets robbed multiple times it will be shut down because it is "knowingly and repeatedly" harboring crime.
Punish the innocent. Reward the guilty. It's the Democrat way.

I’m not sure that I agree with giving the police this authority considering that the New Orleans Police Department is a criminal enterprise itself.

Skyrocketing crime in a city that a few years ago announced the police would no longer pursue criminals who flee or arrest solicitation of prostitution?
Go figure!
Man, liberals are SO STUPUD!

The city will define chronic nuisance as when a business repeatedly fails to address drug, theft, and violent crimes at their establishments in a timely manner, according to Fox 8.Isn't that the responsibility of the police?

Probably, but not the illegal ones that run all night in people’s houses.

Reading the headline, I thought for a second that this was targeting chop shops, pawn stores, ‘fronts’ and others which facilitate crime.
I couldn’t have been more wrong...

That right there is a violation of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment’s Due Process clause. You messing with somebody’s livelihood and for that you owe them Due Process.
Whether that applies to the Po-Po is a matter for the courts to decide.

"If a business is ever going to be shut down, it’s going to be because the judge saw all the criteria and that was the last resort," City Council Vice President Helena Moreno said of the new measure, according to Fox 8. We have this in Michigan.
It will be misused.
