Here's a look at the 2023 nominees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Cyndi Lauper
Kate Bush
Sheryl Crow
Missy Elliott
Joy Division/New Order
Iron Maiden
George Michael
Willie Nelson
Rage Against The Machine
Soundgarden
The Spinners
A Tribe Called Quest
The White Stripes
Warren Zevon
Rock & Roll. SMFH. Might as well rename it the “Music” Hall of Fame.
pretty weak, starting to look like the Baseball Hall of Fame where anyone who every got a hit by a pitch is nominated.
Well, what are they gonna do, keep inducting Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, and Elvis every year?
I agree. Make a Music Hall of Fame and located it in Vienna. Make Cleveland a true Rock and Roll Hall of fame as a subsidiary. same for Blues, Jazz, Rap, Pop, etc...
Now, I’m a native Texan, but what is Willie Nelson doing in that list for the “Rock and Roll” Hall of Fame?
Soundgarden.
All the wild cats are in the wild. The domesticated kitties accept their place in the zoo.
I’m not sure that I’d put Willie Nelson in a “Rock and Roll” HoF.
As far as the rest of that list goes....Warren Zevon was good but didn’t have much of a career after 1980 or so. The Spinners had some success and I can sing along with a few of their songs (as long as I’m in the shower and nobody is listening). The rest of them, well, I don’t have any of those albums.
Zackly. The Muzik Zoo.
This is no different than the Country Music Hall of Fame with members like Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Still no JETHRO TULL!
There’s still some missing. Why not Neil Sedaka? He actaully wrote a lot of hits in the Brill Building era and had several hits in the 70s.
More than you can say about some current and future members.
Foreigner and Styx are still the Rodney Dangerfield’s of the RRHoF.
I get the impression the R&R HOF is just basically a large scale Hard Rock Cafe that charges admission. And, overall, has better and cheaper food?
Oh look! Liberace’s slipper! And over there!! Roy Orbison’s pen!!
I thought Warren Zevon was already in. Maybe he didn’t have enough lawyers, guns and money.
I’ve heard of or have every album/CD of those groups on the list except for A Tribe Called Quest. Never heard the group mentioned once in my life.
Ian Anderson should’ve sung 44 Hymns.
I came to make the same complaint. The fact Tull isn’t there is a travesty.
Maybe name some rolling papers after him?
