If Tyre just pulled over and cooperated he would still be alive. What was he running from?
Really? Did you watch the first video...
It was not a normal traffic stop. The cops were unhinged from the start. Where you or I get the let me see your driver’s license and registration, they pulled their guns and dragged him from the car.
This particular group of officers have a history of excessive force. And yes, I consider dragging someone out of their car for a traffic stop excessive.
They were telling him to “Get on the ground!”
But he was already on the ground.
Did they really mean, “Lie face down on the ground” or “Lie down on your belly”?
If so, might they have said that instead?
They seemed perfectly willing to go into verbal intimidation mode, more or less immediately, but not willing to be specific about what they wanted him to do.
Then at some point with Tyre continuing to turn his head around like an owl, protesting verbally, but not quite physically, multiple officers went into physical intimidation mode. But they obviously never effectively restrained him. So the physical violence, again, seems to have been intended to motivate him to become mentally and physically submissive, and then voluntarily assume a face-down or belly-down posture on the pavement.
Instead he got scared, physically escaped their tender physical ministrations, and ran.
For that he had to die?
He was young and had never planned out in his mind how to conduct himself if one or more seemingly roided-out police officers were to stop him and jump ugly with him for no apparent reason.
He had never happened upon Chris Rock’s sage advice. And wow did he pay a price for choosing unwisely.
“If Tyre just pulled over and cooperated he would still be alive. What was he running from?”
assuming that’s true, it’s still not a death sentence offense by being beaten to death ...
When I see the unmarked cars and the aggressive manner of the police officers from the first moment of their interaction with the guy, I wonder if perhaps he suspected they weren’t police officers, but were there to carjack him.
We have no way of knowing what you say is true. We also have no way of knowing why 5 men used this kind of force on an unarmed man.
Was there another reason these guys were after this guy?
I don't blame him for running -- he was close to his mother's house. And they were brutalizing him. He almost made it.
NO! STOP EXCUSING MURDER! Really they started beating on him for NOTHING. He fled because he was afraid. And apparently he was right. Stop backing the blue. They are not your friends.
So you’re OK with the officer that field-goal kicked the guy’s head...twice...while he was being held down on the ground by the other officers.
May the same happen to you.
So he deserved death.
Ok.
Sorry, Constitutional rights matter.
As soon as they stopped him, they began screaming at him. They never even asked him for ID - they just pulled him from the car, and then the ass beating began. He freaked out and ran off. The fat asses were upset they had to run, so they beat him to death. You can see it on video when the cop with the ASP loses his s4!t runs over, yells to the others to give him room and cracks the guy in the skull and then beats him repeatedly with the ASP.
There's at least four cameras that show them working this guy over for no reason.
you can also see where the guy is leaned against the car with a split wig and slumps over. They sit him up and slumps over the other direction. They just left him there against the car bleeding from his skull.
I don't care how much someone supports the police - this was beyond uncalled for....
