Hollywood unleashes a monster upon itself.
Cinema is a rare art form that transcends all boundaries and brings people together.
Nowhere else does a diverse group of people sit together to experience similar emotions simultaneously. Audiences are enthralled together, they laugh together, they cheer together, they jeer together, they cry together, and if the work is admirable, they applaud together.

When award nominations are announced, many in the media study the demographic groups of the nominees instead of the quality of their work.
A few days back, the same Hollywood that sanctimoniously brands a large section of the public as bigots, was accused of bigotry for snubbing some critically acclaimed films by and about Black people.
The film at the center of this controversy is Till.
Till was released last year and is based on the true story of the mother who pursued justice following the murder of her son Emmett Till in 1955.
All this made Deadwyler a formidable contender at the Oscars. However, when the nominations were announced on Tuesday, Deadwyler’s name was conspicuous by its absence.
The film’s writer and director Chinonye Chukwu was also regarded among the leading contenders for the Best Director category at the Oscars. Alas, she was snubbed.
Chukwu accused Hollywood of racism and sexism.
“We live in a world and work in industries that are so aggressively committed to upholding whiteness and perpetuating unabashed misogyny towards Black women.
And yet.
I am forever in gratitude for the greatest lesson of my life - regardless of any challenges or obstacles, I will always have the power to cultivate my own joy, and it is this joy that will continue to be one of my greatest forms of resistance.”

At times I count commercials during breaks in shows...It is usual that 13-14% of the population (black) appear in 70-80% of these commercials....
“Or maybe your movie wasn’t that good”
Budgeted at 20 million and has only made 9.9 million........tells me people don’t care about racism 70 years ago.......unless your an American black of course.
Oh the poetic justice of it all..
The film industry, just like the auto industry, will be driven out of America by the screeching horde of the "gives me dat" crowd. If you've ever watched that thing call TV, I'm sure you've notice the trend..
I guess the only job that will be left in the "Good old U.S.A." will be narcotics salesman and undertaker....were going to need a lot of undertakers.
“African-American filmmaker accuses Hollywood of racism and sexism following Oscar snub”
not really ... it’s just that pretty much ALL movie and TV and so-called entertainment has been so infused with massive quantities of woke people of color and LGBTQWERT+ “characters”, that more of the same no longer guarantees “winning” some fake prize or other ... the competition for deck becomes quite intense when everything is dreck ...
They find racism under every rock. In every facial expression. In every statement. In every drawer. Behind every door. Racism still exists, but nowhere near the extent clowns like this think it does.
When walk around all of the time with a hammer (the belief that you unfailingly being the victim of racism) then everything looks like a nail.
My bad....Jan 2023 was in the UK
“Till had its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 1, 2022, was theatrically released in the United States on October 14, 2022, by United Artists Releasing, and was released in the United Kingdom on January 6, 2023, by Universal Pictures.”
“
Blacks and gays are way over represented in commercials and television shows relative to to their share of the population. Meanwhile I very rarely see Asians or Latinos represented, even though there are large populations of both in my area and other areas of the country.
If Oprah isn’t screaming “Racism”, then I guess the decision wasn’t racist…/s
Only 9 million?
Kinda tells you something.
NOBODY, INCLUDING BLACKS, WENT TO SEE IT!.....................
Maybe it should have been a musical...............
I know there is a cutoff date for pictures to be nominated, I don’t remember when it is.
THAT......is what she’s really pissed about
Don’t have a black Oscar show
but first call a wambulance
Based on commercials alone you’d swear this country was 70% black and white gals were married to black guys and white guys were the dumbest people on the planet.
That is so true....
As opposed to being “anti-racist” minstrels and woke buffoons in real life?
Exactly...Reality doesn’t exist in commercials....
“And the Oscar for best sarcastic post about getting Oscars goes to...”
If a black doesn’t win it is simply because of racism. Got it.
I dont think black Americans care a whit about racism, what they do care about is using the issue to try a get “stuff” without earning it.
Plus it’s now a get out of jail free card, and an excuse for the overall failures of the black community at large.
Mass effect social engineering.
