A McDonald's in Indiana accidentally handed drive-thru customer Josiah Vargas all its deposit money instead of his sausage muffin.
Vargas uploaded a video to TikTok where he was confused, then agonized over returning the money.

"Why would you guys do this to me? You know how bad I want this money?" Vargas asks.
However, Vargas did the right thing and carried the money back into the store.
"I really want to give you a hug," an employee is heard saying, and then she does.
He said McDonald's gave him a $200 reward for returning the money and free McDonald's for a month.
"Do good, people," Vargas said.
However, the story doesn't end there.
Since returning the money, his video has gone viral. Most of the comments praised Vargas for doing the right thing, but in a sign of the times, there were a lot of anti-capitalist comments that were saying he would have been right to keep the money.

What kind of business deposits their money sorted into plastic baggies?
In my experience, most banks provide deposit bags--often with locks on them.
At any rate, Vargas may still end up getting the thousands of dollars he handed back to McDonald's as his little brother set up a GoFundMe for him, and it is currently sitting at $1,500 in donations from people that think it's good to reward someone for doing the right thing.
That, at least, gives me some hope for the future.

It is possible that the bag of money was in fact being stolen by anemploy/s to be removed by an accomplice via the drive in window.
The employee handing out the money through the windoe gave it to the wrong drive up customer. The theft became a comedy of errors. An inside job failed
