I used to wish I could live in Colorado but the last 20 years I knew those times were past. Some nice people in places but it is now looney tunes.
Especially those middle aged, angry, loud mouths that are deep into the change of life.
I used to live in Colorado Springs in the 70’s. Looked out at Pikes Peak everyday and loved going up into he mountains. We were stationed at Ft Carson.
It was a glorious place. My last trip to Denver was depressing.
Here in the northeast, it’s the 50+ spinster/widows with hair tied back, little makeup, an NPR totebag, and a worthless mask on their faces (still!!!).

Add to your litany the ongoing destruction of the coal industry, which will skyrocket energy costs, if no reduction in availability. And where population density is increasing, lack of water and insane traffic on i70 (Western slope)
Beautiful landscape when everything is covered in snow ( snow covers all of the junk and cars lined up in Garfield County), but turning bluer everyday with cold weather and stupidity.
Yes, i moved here from north central Florida. (Family), where we were for over four decades. I live in Colorado, but I’m doubtful that it will ever be home. I just live here as an outsider.

I first arrived in 1971 and proclaimed it the cleanest big city ever.
I returned to stay in 1985 and maintained that enthusiasm.
I worked downtown from 2000-2003 and it was great.
Then they legalized pot.....you just can't believe how rotten and dangerous it is to walk downtown now.
Much of the metro area has similarly deteriorated, esp. West, North, and East of Denver.

Well, it has been and now they are moving in on New Mexico.
Some of this stuff I run across, on reflection I’m not sure if and where I read it, but I think Montana has some legislation pending that attempts to ban the domestic migration of the crazies into their borders. I can’t imagine how it works unless there is a civics and Constitutional exam as a condition for residency.
That is so obvious to most of us on FR -- even if the libs want to cover it up as they do so many other elephants in the room.
The only downside is will they bring their politics with them?

No one stated every realtor is a pimp. No one even implied it.
There are plenty of shady people that are always willing to sell garbage to people. It doesn’t matter if it’s real estate, stocks, product A, etc.
At this point they are a cult. Was driving around looking at houses yesterday and saw four people walking alone in sparse communities with surgical masks on.
Lived in Colorado in the late ‘60’s thru the mid 70’s, back then you saw don’t Californicate CO bumper stickers. Unfortunately, that happened. Retired to Colorado over a decade ago, turned off by the growth and congestion on the front range we opted for western CO. Good choice as western CO is much more conservative politically & far less crowded. Close proximity to major ski areas (Telluride, Aspen, Crested Butte, Powderhorn), hiking & biking trails in abundance. Vineyards with award winning wines are numerous. The NY Times recently listed Grand Junction as one of 52 places (worldwide) to visit in 2023.
And you think the state has a problem?
