Longmont, Co. Used to be nice here.
We had a beautiful place we had built in the sangre de Cristo mountain range around 2004. It was a summer place. Beautiful, peaceful . And then they legalized marijuana . That’s when the zillions of people who wanted to get rich quick and get high moved in. They pitched tents along the Rio Grande and basically lived there. Then came box cars, empty container units, you name it. Poop in the 5 galllon pails. Dump it in the river. Squatters. Our reservoir then became polluted. Too scary to go fish there anymore due to the crum bums hanging out. Sold in 2017. Took our money and ran. In 2018 a homeless guy living in his truck started a huge fire, they gave it a name, the spring fire that burned over 108000 acres right near where our house was. It didn’t burned but everyone was evacuated. So very sad.
Go far enough west in Colorado and it’s still great. The Front Range is uncivilized, I never go there now. Areas within 2 hours of the FR are declining too. I’m in a sweet spot where things are still very good, love the area and the people.

Florida’s still got loonies. However, the conservative leftfugees from other states (like me) are beginning to outnumber them. That, and the wokesters overplayed their hand and alarmed tons of parents down here.

I’m guessing that, contrary to what advocates say, pot IS a gateway drug. You can bet that lots of those homeless people tenting in the streets are doing things harder than pot, such ass meth, heroin, etc. But they may have started out with pot.

A couple we know is leaving CO this month for TN. He’s a builder and says that the enviro-weenies have made doing business there almost impossible, and definitely too expensive. Before a builder can do the first thing to start a job, it costs $50,000+ just for the environmental paperwork.
The house there sold last week. They’ll be here soon, ready to start with people standing by waiting for homes to be built. Passed his licensing tests here a few weeks ago.
