The Los Angeles Police Department banned the Thin Blue Line flag because it now allegedly symbolizes "undemocratic, racist, and bigoted views" held by extremist groups.
The Thin Blue Line symbol is a pro-police emblem that is said to represent the thin line between order and lawlessness in society that is maintained by law enforcement who wear blue uniforms.
LAPD Chief Michel Moore sent an email to department personnel on Friday announcing that the department was banning the Thin Blue Line symbol. The LAPD has barred the Thin Blue Line symbol from being displayed in public areas of police property.

No but this order came straight from city hall karen bass
Have one on my boat and flag pole
If people are offended good
Yep
Well, if you can separate support for the police from circle-the-wagons knee-jerk defense of the police, then fine, keep the flag. But I think a few bad apples tends to spoil things.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
Complete nonsense. Circle-the-wagons defense of law enforcement is EXACTLY what is needed, and the more ruthless all criminal trash is dealt with the better in my view. LOCK ‘EM UP AND KEEP ‘EM LOCKED UP! Don’t agree? That’s your right, spelled out in 1-A!
(getting tough to correct media, even The Blaze.)
LAPD has become communist.
I would not trust anyone still there.

Fact Check-California bill allows non-citizens with work permits to become police officers
By Reuters Fact Check
4 MIN READ
A California bill allows non-citizens with valid work authorization to become police officers. The bill does not extend those rights to those without legal migratory status, however, contrary to what is being shared by posts on social media.
The text in one post (here) reads: “SB-960 changes California law so that police officers no longer need to be either US Citizens or even legally in the country. So if you are arrested it can be by an otherwise illegal alien. Gee whiz.”
Another post reads, in part, “The bill makes no distinction between legal and illegal immigrants.” (here)
The posts refer to bill SB-960, which can be seen (here), introduced on Feb. 9, 2022, by California State Senator Nancy Skinner.
“The bill would remove the provision that requires peace officers to either be a citizen of the United States or be a permanent resident who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship, and would instead require peace officers be legally authorized to work in the United States, and make conforming changes,” the bill reads.
Peace officers is a term used to refer to different law enforcement positions, such as a police officer or a sheriff (here).
A March 18, 2022 hearing of the Senate Committee on Public Safety (page 4) (here) clarified that: “Among the categories of work-authorized non-citizens that would likely be eligible are permanent workers (immigrant visa based on employment), asylees and refugees, and individuals who are protected under the Program of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).”
Robert Gammon, spokesperson for Skinner, told Reuters via email that the claim is false, saying, “SB 960 only allows noncitizens with full federal legal work authorization to become police officers in California.”
This is also stated in the Senate analysis of the bill (here) (titled “08/15/2022 - Senate Floor Analysis”) on page 3.
It is a violation of federal law to work in the U.S. without valid work authorization (here), (here), (here).
VERDICT
Partly False. Bill SB-960 amends the requirement that police officers have to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and allow non-citizens with valid work authorization to hold the position.
Correction Jan. 12, 2023: Changes verb tense in headline, paragraph 1 and verdict when talking about SB-960. The bill was signed into law on Sept. 29, 2022.

Nonsense! There are no “versions” of the American Flag. Any flag that in ANY WAY differs from Old Glory is NOT recognized as an American flag by anyone, not even by the whiners and troublemakers now bitching about the cop flag. Get a life for God’s sake!
Los Angeles is doomed.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The entire country is doomed if kowtowing to these hateful anti-Americans is not soon brought to a screeching halt!
Too bad, I’ll still wear my blue line flag t-shirt in crowds this summer.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I wear my tblf hat everyday. And now, in response to this latest anti-American bitching, I’ll soon be flying a 4’x6’ flag.
> There are no “versions” of the American Flag. <
Well, yes. I agree with that. So I’m not quite sure what your point is.
There is only one American flag, and it should be respected as it is. No changes, no modifications, etc. No using the flag to make a political point.
I will restate my original point. When the American flag is modified for whatever reason, it drives a small but real wedge between people. I fly the American flag on holidays. You do the same. We are fellow Americans. We have at least one thing in common.
Now suppose I fly the American flag with a blue stripe. You fly one with a green stripe. We do not have a flag in common. This is no small thing. Balkanization destroys countries.
Now suppose I fly the American flag with a blue stripe. You fly one with a green stripe. We do not have a flag in common. This is no small thing. Balkanization destroys countries.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Intentionally or otherwise, you’re overlooking my point, which is that no one can fly an American flag with a blue stripe or any other alteration because there is only ONE configuration of that flag, and its colors are RED, WHITE, and BLUE! And the same thing applies to the Union Jack and all other national flags. Some jackass could (and probably has) created a look-alike national flag with Donald Duck’s image printed on it! Perfectly okay to burn Old Glory in the street though isn’t it?
Ah, I think I understand what you’re saying: when the American flag is modified, it is no longer the American flag. (If I’m reading that wrong, my apologizes.)
Regardless, when I see a modified American flag, I see a wedge. That person has added something to the flag that I might not agree with. Then there is no longer a common flag. He has his flag, I have mine.
You do make a good point about the burning of the flag. If an added stripe in a flag is morally wrong, then burning a flag is three times as wrong.
Then there is no longer a common flag. He has his flag, I have mine.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes, you read my point correctly, and in my view it’s applicable to your statement above. You have an American flag but he does not. And just to look at it another way, it’s really a First Amendment issue, which presumably is why the Police chief made it clear that officers would not be prevented from personally displaying the Blue Line flag.
On one hand the cops obey orders from their government masters. On the other hand, they obey the orders of government masters that hate them.
WHY THE HELL is there even a single cop in these woke hell holes? Especially a white cops who has to deal with black neighborhoods.
Except that the First Amendment, a bulwark of America’s greatness, permits such expression.(Granted, you phrased it as an if:then proposition)
I try not to read screeds such as yours. They are just too depressing — because they are true.
I don't think they actually hate them. Political creatures speak and act in ways they think will further their ambitions. They don't "feel" one way or another about their fellow human beings.
<< He declared, “I directed to have the item taken down from the public lobby. The U.S. flag should be proudly displayed in our lobbies whenever possible. >>
And if a coordinated effort of leftists complains that Old Glory symbolizes slavery and white supremacy…?
