especially deadly for the oysters....
This is why I don’t eat raw meat of any kind.
“This summer, oysters from Louisiana sickened Floridians.”
If the month does not have an “R” do not eat raw oysters.
Selective, Kumamotos and Chesapeake Bay.
I used to only eat raw oysters at very nice places in NOLA. After that turned to a Hell hole, I would treat myself once a year to oysters at a famous, small sushi bar in L.A. Now I fled L.A., no more for me.....My first husband got deathly ill from a bad crab, it was not pretty....so I am picky. If fresh, on ice, with some hot horseradish and a squeeze of lemon.....soooooooo good. I still get an oyster fix once a year when I go to the Oregon coast. Little Depoe Bay has a place where they bake HUGE local oysters on a plate of rock salt. Not the same, but super delish.
Not taking any chances. I think Vibrio is vastly underreported, because most oysterheads (a) know they're gonna get it about every 10 years and (b) they know 98% of all cases resolve in 48 hours.
Sounds like an average day at a Taco Bell or Jack in the Crack.
Then how do you deal with jabs that kill millions?
And even September can be quite warm in these southern places.
I only ear them chargrilled anymore, unless it’s January or February. Maybe that’s not even safe these days..
Well at least we still have deep fried oysters.
....and just how much Death and Disease was caused by contaminated oysters harvested —> IN <— Florida?
The way I read this, they ALL came from somewhere OUT of state, but the article makes it sound like it’s a Florida problem.
Poor journalism...
Exactly.

What on earth were they doing serving oysters in the summer???

Well, putting them in your ear could cause some hearing loss, especially if they are too hot.................
Florida’s Apalachicola Bay oyster beds are SHUT DOWN until 2025.................
For sure! More likely to try to stuff them up my nose, they smell so darn good.
Eat Kosher! Live longer!
Hi.
Not off topic, but what is the status of the suit FL v GA regarding the Swannee and the other river which flows into the bay?
