The human butt has long been the object of all manner of obsessions. We worry over it: its size, its shape, whether or not it has cellulite on it, how it looks in a pair of jeans. But now, a new source of concern emerges: the alarming possibility that one’s butt — or at least, one’s relationship to butts generally — is racist.
For this we may thank the existence of Butts: A Backstory, a new book by journalist Heather Radke. To be fair, it surely is not Radke’s intention to inculcate racial anxiety in her reader: Butts feels like a passion project, deeply researched and fun to read, offering a deep dive into the history and culture of the human rear end, from the Venus Callipyge (from whose name the word “callipygian” is derived) to Buns of Steel to Sir Mix-A-Lot’s seminal rap celebrating all things gluteal. It is a topic ripe for well-rounded analysis, so to speak. But having been written in the very particular milieu of 2020s America, Butts unfortunately falls victim to the contemporary vogue for viewing all matters of culture through a racial lens. The result is a work that not only flattens the butt, figuratively, but makes the book feel ultimately less like an anthropological study and more like an entry into the crowded genre of works which serve to stoke the white liberal guilt of the NPR tote bag set.

I guess the old adage, “guys don’t make passes at girls with fat a#$es” doesn’t hold true anymore.

Putting big women in lingerie ads is not appealing to the big women who buy the underwear. It does not even work for sewing patterns.
Upside down heart shaped and proportioned to height.
My wife just bought me that exact T-shirt!
I’m not big on big butts but ended up married to a true blonde, blue eyes, a few freckles, who was built like a black woman. Every black man looked at her with their mouth hanging open. She could do that head side to side thang too. Think there might have been some genetics back there somewhere.
Gigs like that are fun.
Every chubby chaser I know has a swastika tramp stamp. So there’s that. S/

Venus Callipyge, also known as the Aphrodite Kallipygos or the Callipygian Venus, all literally meaning "Venus (or Aphrodite) of the beautiful buttocks"

Oh, man. The commentary I could have on this as a woman, who also likes women, is vast.
The fact is, everyone likes different things, even, and sometimes especially, in violation of societal norms. Chubby chasers/BBW, some people like women who are lithe, some like female body builders, some like women with a proportional hourglass figure, like Betty Paige and other pinup girls. That’s where my preference rests, and I’m a dreaded Milennial.
Through the eighteenth century, women were preferred pale, a little heavy, and curvy, which meant waist cinchers and corsets. All signs that you were wealthy and did little for yourself.
Things change...
A long time ago, I read that in cultures where food is scarce, fat is beautiful. In cultures where food is plentiful, thin is beautiful.
Took until #29 haha!
2) Chinese women are built like young boys, have poor hygiene and are the second ugliest women on earth after Australian aborigines.
This story stinks...
Rush Limbaugh: ‘I Love The Women’s Movement, Especially When I’m Walking Behind It’
My 100% Castilian mother would give the side eye upon hearing that.
Remember the line in "If I were a Rich Man"? "I see my wife, my Golde, looking like a rich man's wife, with a proper double-chin!"
A plump wife means that you are a such a good provider that she does not have to work as hard as those scrawny women.
But now a thin wife means you can afford those gym memberships, personal trainer and maybe even a private chef so you can have tasty but lo calorie meals.
There are plenty white girls with not only big butts, but extremely large butts. Some men prefer them as well.
