My son in law recently got a new Ram about the same time that I got a new Silverado.

Honestly, I couldn’t tell much difference.

I’ve driven Silverados of one form or another for decades. I never liked Fords—but that is a personal preference.

Between the top three these days, their ratings are virtually in the same area. I laughed when I used to see one saying their were “top rated”. Then when you looked at the numbers, one was rated a 94 and the other two were something like 93.5.

Unlike the Tesla, it will not accept a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood lying down with the tailgate closed.

So, it’s not a work truck

If you’re thinking of buying an EV you might want to check out what Toyota and Honda are doing with hydrogen fuel cells. With a 1000 mile range and refill in 2 minutes they will make EV’s obsolete inside of 5 years. You won’t be able to give an EV away once hydrogen fuel cells hit the market.

Does the electric battery still blow up when it’s soaked in saltwater? Hurricane evacuations are going to be rough when there’s more of these electric vehicles on the road.

I’d like a Rick Simon Dodge power wagon.

Bring that back.

Pretty is not what I look for in a truck. I’m rebuilding a 1949 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup right now to my specs. Total cost will be around $18,000. Stout, repairable, gas powered. Will have all wheel disk brakes and power steering.
How much will the Ram cost?

I actually looked forward to the Tesla truck but it seems to have been delayed to forever. I’ve seen the electric Hummer and not impressed. I suspect it is simply an urban 4x4, not one to take where I take my Hummer H3. Besides, I haven’t seen a charging station out in the middle of nowhere.

In our case the EV is good for long trips too as long as it's not through an area with few chargers ("charging desert" in EV lingo) and my wife is on the trip (which she almost always is).

She likes to stop every 200 miles and stretch her legs anyway, even if we're in the ICE pickup. That's conducive to charging the EV every 200 miles and it taking 10-15 minutes.

I haven't followed the issue for a while now, but there were a lot of discussions a couple of years ago about inductive charging highways and stationary inductive chargers that could be carried with a vehicle so that if a truck were parked at a work site, it could charge while parked.

These kinds of developments would affect the future of EVs in a big way.

The folks at Dodge care about Musk’s politics to the extent that it can be leveraged to help Dodge’s stock price and market share. And if they are woke types, they’ll care about his politics on a personal level too.

Just like GM's Chevy Silverado EV is really a Chevy Avalanche with the impractical "mid gate" and should have been called the EValanche, RAM follow suit with the mid gate concept.

At least the RAM also has a pass-through trap door from the cabin firewall into the "frunk" which gives you a clear shot from the tail gate to the grille.

Now you can finally carry that 18' long 2x6 without it sticking out of the back of the truck with an embarrassing red flag stapled to it.

The U.S. automakers keep cranking out those electric Edsels.

The electric vehicle boondoggle will be a complete joke to our grandchildren someday.

No doubt the MSM (illegit regime butt boys and girls) are out to destroy Tesla and Musk.

This is par for the course. They ruin you financially and then they they discredit and destroy your reputation before setting their corrupt agencies of the DOJ upon you to harrass and threaten you with lawsuits and imprisonment.

I'd be interested in a BEV/HEV hybrid. Of course all HEV's are part BEV by nature anyway. I'd just like more range from the battery portion before it needs to draw power from the fuel cell. At that point I'd be all in on hydrogen fuel cell cars.
