New Year old school southern cooking
Herring in sour cream sauce & black bread pumpernickel
For New Years, think I’ll just stick to prime rib or lasagna or pizza (to watch football by).
Maybe a hot dog and Bush’s Original Baked Beans with crushed pineapple, chopped bacon, brown sugar and some ketchup mixed in. Yum!
Or maybe just a great big medium rare Angus Beef YummyBurger with lots of lettuce and tomato slices and slathered with mayo and mustard and dipped in ketchup. Yum!
I get the black eyed peas. But cabbage? Hadn’t heard that.
Suthyourmouth.com has the recipes I use for black eyed peas and collards. Making that and a ham I got on sale. Under $20 for the meal and will have it a few times.

We have kraut and pork and dumplings.
It is my wife's Polish/German tradition, not mine.
After six decades of eating it for New's Years Eve, I'm starting to like it.
It goes well with Yuengling's Black and Tan.
AKA Watchyourmouth.com.
We have kraut and pork and dumplings.
Our ribs are pork ribs with the sauerkraut and couple of sweet apples sliced. It's cooked on low heat for about 4 hours. It's really pretty good.
Bacon, lots of black pepper, garlic and lots of onions.
And Jalapeño cornbread.
It all sounds delicious 😋😋. Happy New Year everyone!!
Andouille Sausage onion, garlic, pepper, salt to taste & whatever else sounds good to me at the moment.
