MacKeeper has near Root like permissions that allow malware wide access to the Mac.

MacKeeper is not designed to be anti malware. Saying that it is designed as anti malware is admitting to allowing it to install on your computer you moron. It has always been malware. It masquerades as ant malware to coax you to install it but it doesn’t do anything good. I don’t see it that much anyway supporting about 2000 mac users/machines in my organization. That means the writer is a really moronic moron.

This issue is virtually the same as the VPN dilemma. Without a VPN you don’t know who might be tracking your internet movements. With a VPN you allow only one entity to track your internet movements. However, do you know that your VPN provider is not using your internet interactions against you?

Always assume that someone is watching.

The best anti virus is a protocol called “ if you don’t know where it’s from or what it does without someone else explaining it to you, Do Not Open.”

Delete is a useful function.

I’m a long-time Mac user that was lucky enough to be warned away from MacKeeper years ago. It’s horrible! I have never heard anyone claim it has done any good at all. The amazing thing is that it’s still around after all these years of bad performance and horrible reviews.

Kind of like Norton AntiVirus. The closer you you got to your renewal, the more attacks they let through on you. I had to completely rebuild my computer operating system and reinstall all of the software I purchased with the laptop several times while running Norton. One I got away from Norton, I’ve never had a single problem since.

MacKeeper has always been a scam. I’m surprised it is still around, seems like it was so many years ago I was helping customers remove it from their systems - removal being tougher than just dumping the app in the trash...
