I do hill sprints of around 200 yards. (quite steep, and it’s brutal)
I do speed & plyometric work in a field by a road.
People driving by always stare at me.
I’m pretty sure they think I’m retarded.
LOL!!!
I did hills every Monday for years. Its a hill on my 5 or 7 mile route that is crazy steep and long. I could go 200yds or 400yds. It was great for a while then i said, “enough already!!”
One time i was doing the hill in the rain and didn’t have a hat- some guy in a pick up truck stop and offered me a hat or an umbrella. I thanked him and said i was dumb enough not to bring a hat so i’ll suffer the consequences.
“Plus sized?”
There are a lot more mathematics required to describe that gastropod. How will the “FAT IS FIT” crowd explain this one.
I’ve seen 80 + yr/old that still smoked but don’t recall any that age that were much over 200 lbs. Not too many geriatric fatties.
Nope. It definitely is a “force multiplier” for dying.
My aunt lived to 96. She smoked, got drunk, didn’t exercise, and ate ice cream daily. She was thin though.
It seems if smoking or booze doesn’t kill you in your 50s or 60s, you’re pickled until real old…
They smoke fish to preserve it and alcohol has been used as a preservative forever. So I guess it makes sense.
I’m of the “full speed ahead” type of brain, so I no longer test that theory personally.
Eating salad is part of the bad advice.
Severely overweight people are insulin resistant. They can’t lose weight by dieting. If they eat less their body keeps the weight and makes then lethargic.
They lose weight by eating moderately, avoiding snacks and having at least 12 hour between the last meal of the day and breakfast the next day. They need to then have two non sequential 24 hour fast (i.e. Tuesday & Friday) per week. That is exactly what many doctors tell them not to do.
I am getting my information from the book, “Why we get fat; And what to do about it,” by Gary Taubes
It is a free audio book on Amazon

And the silent (but effective) killer hypertension.
Pretending to be okay with being fat, pretending that your body can take it, pretending you're attractive when you're morbidly obese . . . I for one am very tired of our pretend world.
Gary Taubes is the Alex Jones of nutrition and health.
Sometimes spot on, other times nutritional Sandy Hook.
The FDA pyramid is garbage though.
One can have ample fat and protein with a salad.
Whether hard boiled egg, avocado, Chef’s salad, dressing…
In an earlier era, we would have paid a nickel to see her at the circus.
