There is a new cable news ratings champion.
Nielsen data for 2022 rank the Fox News round table program “The Five” as the most watched show in cable news with an average of 3.5 million viewers.
The figure tops “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” which averaged 3.3 million viewers for the year. The figure for the Fox News prime-time show is up 3% over 2021 when it was the most watched program for the year.
But “The Five” grew more, up 17% over 2021. The program, which airs live at 5 p.m. Eastern and 2 p.m. Pacific, is also the first cable news show outside of prime time to finish the year on top.
The only non-sports cable program with a larger audience than “The Five” is Paramount Network’s hit drama “Yellowstone.”

It’s awful. Just 5 people spouting their opinions, none of whom ever know anything more than the average person. And it’s not really a debate either. Very boring.
I have a hard time watching Tucker without getting angry. I have to turn him off and walk away sometimes. Our government is so corrupt.
It's supposed to be a light hearted funny entertainment type show. There is nothing serious about it.
I guess it’s good for people who don’t have any friends. Good for shut-ins and rest home folks, I suppose.
I feed my dog during it, she seems to like it. Or maybe it's the food.
Tucker Carlson is not pro-Putin in any way, shape or form.
He simply points out the absurdity of the Biden administration defending Ukraine’s border, where we have zero national security interests, but not our own southern border.
He also points out that US economic sanctions against Russia have totally backfired, as President Trump predicted. By boycotting cheap Russian energy, the West has driven up world energy prices, while Russia still enjoys an abundance of inexpensive gas and oil. Then, with prices doubled, the substantial energy they still export earns them windfall profits.
We are literally boosting Russia’s economy and killing our own.
The Democrat war-mongers love this war, and so do the globalist neocons.
Meanwhile, the fake news dutifully pushes the false narrative that anyone who questions US involvement in Ukraine is a “Putin lover”, or as you say, a “Putin puffer”.
If folks are not watching Tucker, it's possibly because there might be for some folks there could be a limit on the scary news which they can accommodate in one hour.
If I had any helpful suggestions for Tucker it would be to skip the UFO stuff and while most of the interviews are good and important, I'll fast forward those for whom I have little interest (most recently, Mike Tyson).
Not at all. There are, however, quite a few people here with an agenda that is not exactly conservative.
I never see clips floating around about startling revelations when it comes to this show which I never watch. But I see clips of Tucker putting his neck on the line all the time. So as far as I am concerned the five is nothing but another worthless show that accomplishes nothing good at all.
I don’t think you read the article.
Tucker is up 3% over last year.
The 5 is up 17% over last year.
They are both going up.
If Harold Ford Jr. or Geraldo Revolting is on the panel, I immediate turn off The Five.
Life’s too short.
I can’t take The Five or any panel show like that where the talking heads talk to each other.
Tucker is great although he’s going a little over the edge (CIA killed Kennedy).
CIA "had involvement", nobody said the CIA killed Kennedy.
Mike Tyson was a good interview maybe great.
But we’re getting tired of the Tucker laugh, and also whenever someone makes a good point, Tucker overacts his amazement.
As the Bard once observed : “ methinks thou doth protest too much “.
Tucker Carlson obviously is right on target, and you leftists hate it.
“Involved in”. Tucker’s anonymous source “believes” the CIA was “involved”. Tucker says it was a coup, etc.
I think you’re splitting hairs, we would expect life or the gas chamber for anyone “involved in” a presidential assassination.
Bottom line, Tucker appears to be over-hyping.
I support Ukraine, hate Biden and love Trump. You’re absurd with your name calling.
BTW it used to be we were all “paid Soros agents” but now the Alinsky tactics have switched to “neocon”.
I prefer intelligent, patriotic MAGA American.
Tucker is down 15% since September.
He’s losing audience share so has to out carnival bark the others!
