DHS (maybe even the FBI) has been contracting intelligence analysis (Note: Not all!) with SPLC for some time now. That ‘analysis’ enters into the ‘domestic criminal intelligence’ reporting stream, so you know it effects ‘conclusions’ and policy.
Bottom line: You can always find somebody to give you the answer you want!
