Two police officers were shot and killed at a Motel 6 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, early on Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed. The officers were responding to a call for a welfare check made to the Bay St. Louis Police Department from the motel, which is located along a stretch of interstate Highway 90 that runs through the Gulf Coast city, officials said.
The slain officers were identified as Branden Estorffe, 23, and Steven Robin, 34, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety confirmed in a statement.
The officers arrived at the Motel 6 before 4:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, the department said. The officers then encountered a subject, identified as 43-year-old Amy Anderson, who was sitting in a parked vehicle with a female minor.
The officers interacted with Anderson for nearly 30 minutes and the state Department of Child Protection Services was called, according to the DPS statement. From inside the vehicle, Anderson shot both officers before killing herself, according to the department. Robin died at the scene while Estorffe succumbed to injuries later on Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation "is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence," the department said, adding later that additional details will be made public when the investigation has been completed.
Once the investigation is complete, agents at the state bureau will turn over their findings to the state's attorney general's office, the department noted.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves addressed the shooting in a message shared to Twitter.
"Early this morning two Bay St. Louis Police officers were tragically shot and killed in the line of duty," he wrote in part, adding, "I am heartbroken by this terrible loss of two brave law enforcement officers. I am praying for their family, friends, their fellow officers, and the entire Bay St. Louis community. Every single day across Mississippi, our law enforcement members place their lives on the line in constant and repeated acts of selfless sacrifice for their community."
Alex Sundby contributed reporting.
I guess never let your guard down when dealing with people suffering from a stressful situation most likely also suffering from mental illness.
Tragic event without question..
A lot of people are at the end of their rope.
Ooo-kkkaaayyy...
President Biden will invite the families of these two slain officers to the White House to offer honors. Oh wait his schedule is full with groomer, pedophile drag queens. Never mind.
So the policeman who killed Atatiana Jefferson in Dallas is on trial for murder for using deadly force when confronted by a suspect with a pistol but this is what happens to police when confronted by a gun wielding suspect and they try to talk them out of their weapon. No wonder so many the police country wide are quitting ... much to the pleasure of Soros and his Democrats.
Welfare check at a Motel 6? No friggen way!
BP vests should be a minimum attire these days, if that even mattered in this case.

I’m not taking either side here, but the “suspect” was a woman inside her own house who was trying to figure who was creeping around her yard. Let’s keep things in perspective.
The officers were not “tragically shot and killed”. They were viciously murdered by a very bad woman.
Let’s stop minimizing and sugar-coating evil.
WE’LL LEAVE THE LIGHT ON FOR YA....................
There don't seem to be any red flags on this shooter, though. No police record, educated, early 40s, family, with a thriving veterinary practice in Ocean Springs. The involvement of CPS seems to have pushed her past the brink, but there are clearly parts of this story that are obscured. Plus, this may well be the first time Bay St. Louis has lost a police office in the line of duty. Ever.
"We're from the government ... we're here to 'help you' and TAKE YOUR CHILD AWAY FROM YOU ..."
I obviously know no details about this case — but it strikes me that some of the people who are “at the end of their rope” are the ones who have played by all the rules, done everything right, they got educated, they have a solid job, they pay their taxes — and yet they feel that America is crumbling and then they somehow get caught up by “the system” and they have no faith that they will be treated fairly. I can see someone snapping for “no reason”.
Might have missed it . Could have been SWATed by a vengful EX. If EX was female
ratchet it up a notch. Three less whites to breed. Replaced by 10 illegals and 20+
blue-voting offspring-to-be.

Things that make you go hmmm.....
Public school teacher groomer with a female student?
The problem with this is her neighbors reported a probable burglary in progress. When the police arrived they usually don’t announce their presence so as not to warn burglars. When he walked into the back yard she appeared at the window with a gun and according to the officer aimed it at him and at point that he fired. The story from Mississippi today is two officers were killed trying to talk a woman into giving up her weapon and instead she killed both of them then herself. So what to do what to do. Maybe that is why so many police officers are resigning these days.

Yes, I’m aware of the details of the case. The woman was innocently in her own home and got killed by the police. That is wrong. I made no comment on the Mississippi case.
