European Wind Turbines at a Standstill Amid an Ongoing “Wind Drought”

Like much of the world, Western Europe is in a major energy bind — but an ongoing wind drought is making things so much worse. As gas prices continue to soar, many are resorting to cleaner means of renewable energy. But as of recently, barely even a breeze has made its way through the through the winter air.

This has drawn serious concerns for power generation. Now many are looking to other energy alternatives.

Or at night.

If they didn’t have so many damn windmills blocking surface air flow, they’d have more wind.

Idiots.
= = =

Removing energy from the wind flow MUST have some consequences.

Windmills downwind will get less flow, most obviously.

Air flow and currents that are decreased will affect animal and plant life. Maybe temperature will rise. How about birds that use air currents, or plants that spread seeds and pollen by air.

Aren’t lake and ocean waves caused by wind?

These ‘Idiots’ just aren’t smart enough. We have a wonderfully balanced system that they think they can make better.

Either God created it to be perfect, or

It evolved over billions and billions of years to come to the most optimum condition.

Either way, these Idiots are messing it up.

Of course not. That’s when it recharges!

They should paint the wind turbine towers green! Might at least make the “man made global warming” nuts feel good.

What I rarely hear is the fact than Sun is one million times bigger than earth, and earth is so puny compared to the Sun.
And humans are so puny compared to earth, astronauts in orbit can’t see only 1 man made object during day light, the wall of China.

Yep, that’s pretty much my point. Same for those thousands of square miles of black panels (solar panels) sucking up huge amounts of heat from the sun that would otherwise be reflected back to space.

Maybe Gaia turned the wind off because the people who build those turbines are raping the earth to do so. And the windmills are killing Gaia’s favorite birds and bats when they do run. Just trying to look at it in watermelon terms, green on the outside, red on the inside.

I just drove past gobs of panels and mills today. They were put up in that ‘ugly, useless’ desert land.

The same primo, undisturbed, ‘wilderness’ land that Cranston wanted off limits to humans.

It used to be quite pleasant and calming to gaze upon. (And hunt and explore in.)

Or heat soaked into the ground as it was designed to do.

BWAHAHAHA! Now if they could only harness the hot air from the envirowhackos who pushed to have this unreliable energy source, they would have enough energy to last them a decade.

Joe Diffie

In John Deere green, on a hot summer night,
He wrote Billy Bob loves Charlene in letters three foot high.
And the whole town said that he should’ve used red
But it looked good to Charlene in John Deere green.

Correct, and that is precisely the time people need most heat to keep from freezing.

" Surface winds across Europe may be declining, thanks to a global warming-induced phenomenon known as global stilling. From 1978 to 2010, wind speeds dropped by 2.3 percent on average, per decade, but the reason for this is still up in the air.

Some believe it could be because temperatures are warming in the Arctic, making less of a temperature disparity in hot and cold regions of the world. Therefore, wind balance is thrown off entirely.
"

No, there has not been enough Artic "warming" to diminish the wind. It is more likely that the thousands of wind turbines erected across Europe have succeeded in harvesting a significant fraction of the wind power available in certain areas. In other words, the "no impact" wind energy technology is having an impact on the environment (in addition to slaughtering thousands of birds).

Wind/Solar should not be included in calculations for a populations expected energy consumption. Expected energy consumption should addressed by fossil fuel or nuclear energy based. That being said, Wind and Solar aren’t all bad to include as supplemental and to use as available.

On the other hand, windmills dotting the hills and country side are ugly bird killing machines, and they barely last long enough to pay for themselves and blades end up in a land fill.

Solar has issues taking up space. I like the idea of having solar panels on rooftops though since that type doesn’t eat up any more land.

Similar to a hydro-electric power dam which reduces water flow speed down-river from the dam.

I am witnessing the re-emergence of communism and centrally-planned economics, but this time it's in the West.
