Very good YouTube 17 min. video from HistoryLegends on the ongoing battle in Bakhmut. They do an excellent job (complete with pictures and maps) to spell out the pros and cons for both sides in this fierce battle.
Also spells out KIA casualty figures for both sides to date in the Ukraine war. Over 100,000 KIA Ukrainians; 15,000 KIA Russians.
The presenter has a sense of humor and does a good job mimicking neocons complete with accents...:-)

I can see two possible reasons. One is it’s a coping mechanism, when some people see absolute horror, they cope by making jokes, it’s a way of relieving the horrible stress.
The other applies to hardened combat folks, they are so used to the horrors of warfare it’s just everyday business for them, and for these people finding humor in war is no different than a carpenter finding humor on the job.
One or both cases may apply to the presenter. Many sheltered people would simply not comprehend the above two probabilities.

The game for Ukraine is TAKING TERRITORY.
The game for the Russians is demilitarization (the degrading of) of Ukrainian armed forces.
Given numbers of manpower and military hardware losses the Ukrainians have suffered, who is winning this battle of attrition, peddler?

Because anyone, for or against Russia and who holds the lease bit of partiality knows that figure is total bs, it does not have to be backed up. Everyone knows the Russians have suffered massive and significant losses.

How much more worse would the Ukrainian numbers be IF all them foreign Mercs (US/UK/Polish/etc) were included, which they are not?
