A few years ago a judge near here heard a case of a homeless guy who got arrested for living under a bridge over the river and killing, cleaning, plucking and roasting 2-3 city pigeons on a spit over an open fire.
The judge asked the prosecutor if the city was experiencing a shortage of pigeons. The answer was no. The judge then asked if a fire built on the banks of a river posed much of a threat. Again, the answer was no.
Case dismissed on the condition that the accused at least check in with the local shelter
