Child is not dead. He made a miraculous recovery and is at least a somewhat normal child in school. I can’t even imagine the medical bills incurred.
The assailant was not a Somali, he was home grown.

This was pre-George Floyd. If the trial had taken place afterwards, maybe the sentence would have been lighter.

Even if they had none, settling is often cheaper than proving it in court. But there must have been some legal reason the mall was not removed from the case, which I’m sure was their lawyers first motion.
