Menlo Park police are investigating a brazen attack on a man who was meeting a woman he met on a dating app. Two men approached the victim’s vehicle and dragged him out, pistol whipped and beat him, then stole his cash. The woman took off with the men.
Police in Menlo Park are investigating an armed robbery and assault that occurred on the 3600 block of Haven Avenue Friday evening.
Officers responded to the scene at 5:55 p.m., where they found a 35-year-old man suffering multiple injuries sustained from being struck by a pistol as well as being punched and kicked.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim met up with a woman who he met on an online dating app. The victim and the woman were sitting his parked car when two suspects approached the car, removed the victim from the vehicle before assaulting him and taking cash from him. The woman willingly fled the scene with the male suspects.
The male suspects are described as Black adults, in their early 20s, wearing face masks. One was wearing all black clothing while the other was wearing a red jacket. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The female suspect is described as being white or Hispanic, in her early 20s, wearing reading glasses, gray sneakers and a white dress with black designs on it.
The victim was treated at an area hospital for his injuries and later released.

I am married, thank God. If not I would only go out with someone who was very good friends with a mutual friend. And you’re correct.....no no no to these creepy dating apps.

As they say, stay away from women and the stress of dating, from alcohol, red meat and junk foods and you may add four years to your life in a nursing home in your senior years.
This was in the State of California if I’m not mistaken. So the lure and her two sidekicks had a pretty good idea their mark wouldn’t be concealed carrying anything heavier than a condom. A CCW permit or license is exceptionally difficult to obtain in CA.
The dating environment is different today. 10% of single males, it's great because you are a high value male. So you get a harem. 90%? You have to settle for scraps. Women are very selective. Our birthrate is going to continue to drop. It will probably settle down to 1.0 per woman. Japan and South Korea are there already.
Dating apps are for suckers. There’s nothing like meeting a woman at the bar, wedding, or church.
Have you seen the latest high end robotic cyber female companions from Japan? They are pretty damned hot.
It's a shame he had to get pistol whipped but maybe he learned a valuable lesson and got away "cheap"?
It took several dates before I would be alone with him in a car.
I was not paranoid, just prudent. Ok maybe the background checks were a little over the top. It was just a scan for open warrants. Nothing too detailed.
Thankfully that time is behind me. Can't imagine dating now days.

I was very small at the time and my memory is a bit hazy. I was doing a lot of drinking at that time in my life.
