Real Christmas trees are also pretty dangerous if they don’t get watered.
Sometimes, they carry switchblades.
PVC in your tree is perfectly safe in your living room.
environmentalists hate the production of Chlorine (a component of polyvinyl chloride), similar by-products like pthalates, and disposing of PVC products in land fills.
If you don’t spend a bunch of time touching it, it shouldn’t matter.
An interesting rebuttal to PVC issues:

Should I rip out the water and sewer pipes in my house? /sarc
Christmas trees are obsolete. Go with a Festivus Pole instead. I find tinsel distracting. An aluminum pole has a high strength to weight ratio. Relatively cheap and easy to store. I store mine in the attic.
But note that there’s no warning regarding Ramadan Trees. Says something about this country.
I prefer my asbestos Christmas tree.
For the health and safety of us all, Christmas needs to be phased out for good. Please think of the children.
Every time the lunatic asylum comes out with another “IT”S GONNA KILL YOU” story I try to do some actual research.
Typically, they will find some raw ingredient that in huge concentrations will certainly harm you and hype it up. Yes, the bottle of juice contains .00001% of X. If you were to drink 1400 gallons of X per day, it can kill you.
.0000001% has absolutely zero effect.
Without looking, it’s the same for this.
But just to be safe, call a PVC remediation company to rip the vinyl siding off your house and remove all of your pipes. Oh wait, there’s no such thing as a PVC remediation company?

just stop going there.
See?
Problem solved.
You’re welcome.
Anything else I can help you with?
We don’t do real trees. Got one and our son’s eyes were swollen shut the next day. Dragged the tree outdoors and he was fine later that day. Now he’s been around evergreens outdoors to no ill effect so I’m thinking it’s something they spray on the trees to keep them green longer.
PVC is not harmful to you unless ingested or set on fire and inhaled. I wouldn’t heat it up in an oven as it could start off-gassing and the fumes could be mildly irritating.
“You will have NO Christmas Tree and you will LIKE IT!”
Couldn’t say, we cut our own on our own property. Before that we cut our own at designated National Forest sites.
Don’t eat one.
“Known by the state of California” again. If you don’t live in Ca don’t worry about it. In Ca they think everything will kill you and has a warning label.
