I cannot believe what Clay Travis said today on the EIB station. "TRUMP SHOULD AGREE TO SUPPORT THE TICKET IF HE LOSES THE PRIMARY"
November 16, 2022 | self

Clay Travis said today he thought Trump should agree to support the nominee, if he(Trump) did not win the nomination.

I think that is an incredibly naive position. Does anyone think the RNC is trustworthy? Would anyone trust Mitch McConnell to be honest and fair? The only way Trump will have any leverage at all is to not to promise to support the ticket if he is not treated fairly. The GOPe Republican Establishment might joins forces with the Democrats to eliminate Trump, or clandestinely work against Trump in the primary. Why do they call it the Uniparty?

I voted for McCain and McRomney. I will never vote for a RINO again.

I voted for Trump because he won the 2016 nomination....if Trump can’t agree to the same for 2024, not only will he lose, but he will take down Republicans with him. If he can’t commit to support the nominee, whoever it is, he can go to hell.

Trump is way too much about Trump to assume he would support Desantis or anyone else. I was a VERY early supporter of Trump (enough where I actually thought I was going to get kicked off FR for a couple months) and enthusiastically voted for him in 2016 and 2020 but don’t kid yourself, Trump is about Trump. As long as our goals align, I’m fine, but at this point he has wayyyy too much baggage with independents and suburban women to win (plus overcoming some likely extra D ballots). Why not put forth someone with Trump’s policies, but more articulate, less combative and way less baggage?

This is really a silly question. You know the Republican establishment is made up of honorable people who would never sabotage surrepeticiously a fellow Republican. The Republican primary will be fair, right? And, Trump loves America and would never wreck the country by running 3rd party race and getting a Democrat elected, correct? So, what is the purpose of answering this question?

The Republican party is at the root of this dispute. If that many RINOs can re-elect Turtle neck in the senate and think it’s ok the party needs to be reorganized.

The party needs to be reformed. Seriously reformed; right now, it’s part of the swamp

McConnell is a very poor leader. He is an operator, not a leader.

The party that would elect a terrible unlikeable operator like McConnell, who has no leadership qualities, will now try to sabotage the MAGA wing candidate behind the scenes.

Clay is right, and so should every other Republican. As in 2016, if they lose to him, they should fully support him, but if he loses, he should also support the winner.

“Anyone not willing to join the team will not get my support.”

Amen! I don’t want Trump to be the nominee in 2024, but I’ll vote for him (and try to get others to do so, although it will be tough). I think he’ll lose the general election in 2024, but if he wins the primary? I’ll be all in.

And folks, it is over 18 months until the primary! We don’t know if any of the people being discussed will even be ALIVE 18 months from now - or if WE will!

Why would anyone think Trump would not support the winner if he lost fair and square, in the primary election? This is a very silly, emotional question. A hypothetical “gotcha” question.

Of course Trump will support the winner. And, you can rest assured the Republican establishment is trustworthy. They will run a fair primary, and will not engage in sneaky attacks on the former President.

So what is this all about?

There are some guys who can’t be replaced.
Sadly, Limbaugh was one of them.
Truly the GOAT.

“He also shouldn’t rule out a third-party run. He owes the party nothing.”

He owes the COUNTRY something - and another 4 years of Democrats in office is NOT what he owes!

He will support the winner in a fair Republican primary.

If SlowJoe doesn’t run, the Dems may want to stay in their own primary lane in 2024. Especially if they are trying to dump word salad Kammy for Booty-Gig or gel boy.

He casts a much larger net than you do. Not sure what the audience is now but I can guarantee you, your post reached a minuscule number to anything Clay Travis says.

why do you think Trump will clean house this time? He didn’t do anything close to it the last time. In fact he brought swamp people into the administration.

"Well Buck and Clay ain’t Rush."

I never listen to them, even when one or the other of them comes on Jesse Watters or Tucker Carlson.   I quickly change the channel (like I do when Lindsey Graham or Karl Rove comes on).

However, I think they should use this song for their show's theme song:

"Together Again"

Buck

Clay
