ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A 41-year-old Altamonte Springs man was arrested in October after he pistol-whipped and shot a PlayStation 4 video game console during an argument with his stepson, according to the police department.
Police said the stepson told them his stepfather — Byron Haynes — was yelling at his sister, and the boy intervened.
The boy said Haynes told him to “shut the [expletive] up and get out of the room,” according to police.
The arrest report shows the boy and Haynes began to argue, and the man retrieved a gun from his bedroom. Police said Haynes began to pistol-whip a PlayStation 4 before shooting the console.
The stepson told police Haynes aimed the gun at him while telling him to leave the home, which is when the boy called his mother to come pick him up, the report shows.

Should have gotten a PS5 instead
Is the console expected to survive?
A guy put up a video a few years ago of him shooting his daughter’s laptop several times. She didn’t follow his rules for use, and he had told her what would happen prior to her messing up.
It was pretty funny.
That’s virtually murder....................
That’s a $300-$400 rig.
It was when he pressed the circle button to reload that things got REALLY serious.
Meh. Back in the 80s I believe Richard Pryor, during an argument with his wife, shot through the engine block of his car to make a point. His wife had to make other transportation arrangements
Good.. I HATE console game systems..
If people can’t play on PC, then they shouldn’t be able to play.
Freaking ruined gaming... now 99.9% of the games are 3rd person (so they can admire themselves while they play).. I obviously hate 3rd person and prefer 1st person.
(And, porting console games to PC is a disaster)
Hmph... feel a little better now :/
Yeah, it was.
Said it played the games, too loud
Went to the truck and got a forty-five
Bubba shot the PlayStation last night
Schools are ruining kids. When Dad says “jump”, you answer, “How high, sir?”.
PS5 is better
So nitwit was banging a loaded gun on a hard object.
My kids introduced me to a whole genre of videos on YouTube of parents destroying their unruly children's gaming computers, TVs, video game consoles, etc.
They're all staged, typically with over-the-top acting and unhinged destruction.
They're quite popular with millions of views (more than enough to replace whatever gets destroyed).
Was he inside the house? Is there a law against discharging a firearm inside your home? Who owns the PS/4?
PS4 lives matter!!
Beat me to it.
Love that song.
I think that was James Brown.
