11 Nov: VICTORY. KHERSON COUNTEROFFENSIVE COMPLETED | War in Ukraine Explained
Youtube ^ | Nov 12, 2022 | Reporting from Ukraine

Day 261: November 11

Today the process of liberation of the Dnipro River’s western bank was completed, and the Ukrainians are celebrating their victory in the center of the city.

Such rapid developments gave rise to many conspiracy theories that try to explain everything purely from the political point of view, ignoring half a year of the context of what has actually been happening on the ground. As usual, the truth is somewhere in the middle and whatever political decisions may have been made, they were still based on the situation on the ground. So, in this video, I will explain why Russian withdrawal was inevitable, why they managed to withdraw in one day, and why the Ukrainians did not chase them down.

Firstly, let’s start with the context. When the war began, the Russians engaged a minimal number of troops in the southern part of the region and tried to push as far as possible as fast as possible. The main objective was to cross the Pivdennyi Buh River and cut off Odesa and Mykolaiv from the mainland. They tried to deploy airborne forces inside Mykolaiv, but they were destroyed; they tried to take control over the bridges to the north but failed; they tried to build passages but failed; and eventually, they reached Voznesensk but received a tough rebuff. By the third week of the war, the Ukrainians managed to organize themselves, while the Russians significantly overstretched their forces, which is why they started rapidly retreating.

By the end of March, a continuous front line formed along the Vysun River and the administrative border of the Zaporizhzhia region. The Ukrainians continued exploiting the fact that the Russians lacked forces and, by the end of April, managed to push the Russians to the Inhulets River.

Completed? They only took Kherson city. The other 60% is fully under Russian control and good luck getting across the Dnieper to try and get it back.

It’s going to be a dark, cold, hungry winter in Ukraine and the Russian spring offensive will be the A-Team.

Good luck to Soros’ expendable peasants.

He is willing to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian life.

As I can see, there are more real estate than Kherson City on the north side of the river.

You don't have to cross the river to take the rest or Crimea. As you well know, there is another province to the east of Kherson. I heard Ukrainians plan to take it. From there they can move westward. No need to cross the river.

It seems that Russia gave up the entire northern part of Kherson. I guess it is no longer a Russian territory.

The EU made a huge mistake in not blowing that dam on the Dnieper when it had the chance to bag thousands of Russians.

Now when the EU makes its move to conquer Donetsk, it’s just going to have to fight them again.

Well, you should focus on keeping Russian soldiers warm. Ukrainian troops will get enough clothes and other necessities to stay warm and comfortable.

Ukrainians are born and raised in Ukraine. They are used to local weather. They are neither Germans or French. With enough winter provisions from the west, I think they will be fine.

Civilians could have difficulty in living in the big city but I doubt that blackouts will affect frontline troops.

Perhaps you are referring to Ukraine. As for your question, Euros and US liberals will complain and threaten to cut military assistance to Ukraine if that happens. Still I get your point. Not enough Russians are neutralized. When going gets tough, they sure run fast.

The dam is still a danger to somebody.

Wonder if the AFU general staff is comfortable with rushing troops into Kherson city...

Russian Troops Suffering 'Catastrophic Losses' While Retreating—Report
Newsweek

"Russian troops are suffering catastrophic losses while retreating from the key Ukrainian city of Kherson, according to reports.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense published a video on Twitter that appears to show Ukrainian attacks on Russian columns retreating across the Dnieper River.

'For every meter of our land—fire!' the ministry wrote as a caption."

I am not interested in servicing him. For once, Putin can do something good for the world. Send his SVR agents to take out Soros. Putin has been after Russian reporters and dissidents who are against him. They are small fish. Putin should go for a big one. That way, Putin will get some sympathy from people in the West because many in the West hate Soros, too. Even those who view Putin as a war criminal.

Nearly all the flooding will be on the East (left) Bank, where the low ground is, and which was the ancient Dneiper floodplain. And that’s where the new Russian lines are being dug.

I am a kind of confused now. Reports said, including this article, that there were tens of thousands of Russian troops on the northern Kherson region. Then Ukrainian troops moved in, and no report of battles with these remaining troops. Nor the news of mass surrender. One possible explanation is that there were not many left when Ukrainians started a full offensive. That is, a majority of them had already escaped to the other side of river.

Biden, Pelosi, Schumer all support sending in taxpayer funds and weapons to the war in the Ukraine because extortion, fraud  and graft operations based in the Ukraine keeps the current Biden led Democrat regime alive. Biden and Congressional leadership relies on their cut of operations like Hunter's Burisma, or for example, 'technical support' funds misappropriated. We don't control who gets the  money Biden 'claims' to send to the Urkaine. The link at the bottom of this post gives you an idea of the Biden regime's reliance on the Ukraine for funding.

This fantasy is not helping the Ukrainian citizens. Zelensky attacks even when American advisors don't think he should because Zelensky wants to give the impression he's in control and driving the Russians out. He does it to keep the optics needed for corrupt leaders around the world to pretend to shove 'foreign aid' at the Ukraine, while actually funding their own empires.

The Russians took 40% of power grid down in Kyiv and can take it the rest of the way down, forcing 3 or 4 million people in Kyiv to evacuate in search of heat and water. How does this help?

The news issued a blackout (no pun intended) on blackouts in Kyiv because it revealed the true nature of the challenges facing Zelensky - where to evacuate millions of people?

Kyiv had 12 hour blackouts 5 days ago and was unable to keep the power on in the current weather when the temperatures are going down and more power will be needed.

Fox news reported hospitals and medical treatments were already hard to obtain because of power and water interruptions.
There was nothing to stop the Russians from continuing to take down the powergrid except Zelensky, and he is ignoring the Kyiv situation because to get more money  and weapons donated to the Ukraine, he has to make it look like he's relentless attacking like a gladiator about to finish off his oponent, when in fact Zelensky's about to have to deal with relocating millions of people.

There are not sufficient replacement parts for the old power technology and to get water out of the ground, you need power. Millions without electricity and losing access to water. This isn't winning.

To conceal the bad news from the west, the news and power outtage maps stopped updating so it's likely Kyiv is even darker, colder, and has less water now. But if the condition of Kyiv was known, the willingess of the public to keep pouring money into a losing battle, into the globalists puppet regime Zelensky represents, will dry up too. The citizens won't see the money but Biden and others who use the Ukraine to fund their grasping power and corruption rely on that 'foreign aid' which is divided among the blobalists.

I checked the website https://poweroutage.com/ua/ and found they are hiding blackout information and see this message: "Due to the ongoing conflict, and in cooperation with the Ukrainian Government and the NCRECP, the collection and distribution of power outage data for the UA is currently disabled."

Remember Biden extorting Ukrainian leadership to fire the prosecutor investigating Hunter's fraudulent dealings in the Ukraine? Remember Pelosi's SON, Schumer's Son, Hunter and Jim Biden (brother to Joe) are all mules carrying money to and from the Ukraine. At the link below you can see the tip of the massive international corruption iceberg in the Ukraine and understand why Joe Biden keeps giving billions in 'aid' to the Ukraine (some of which never reaches the ukraine!) in order to keep the cash cow alive.

Support for Zelensky/Ukraine is support for Biden/Deep State

The citizens are cold and struggling to maintain living conditions while Zelensky and others divide up 'foreign aid' amongst themselves. Prayers up for the citizens caught in the middle.

Because I keep pointing out the citizens are caught in the middle, and exposing the lies behind the 'narrative' that Zelensky's troops are winning (to justify more funding) is SO unpopular, some freepers launch ad hominem attacks, (e.g., someone had a mental meltdown and accused me of being a commie pedophile). They do that to shut down the truth about the 'optics' battle to falsely portray the Ukraine as 'winning'. How much more money will the Biden regime be allowed to grift off of so-called 'Ukrainian aid'?

The freeper pointed to the fact that Russia has many 'time zones' compared with the Ukrainian's single time zone to make the case that a big bully is beating up on a little country, but this never seems to sink into their thinking when they talk about who is winning the actual war.

The Russians were aware the bridge was going to be blown so they removed troops. They will return  in a few weeks and it won't be pretty. Who knows what happened to the power grid(s) in the last few days. The Ukrainian optics always claim they 'won' this or that while they have to hide the fact that they can't keep the lights on, water running etc., have burned through most of their troops and can't win.

America doesn't belong in the conflict. The South Eastern US is already struggling to get heating fuel and diesel and the nationwide supply chain is floundering, with a potential railroad strike delayed to early December for political reasons. Sending money to Biden and other globalists' corruption satellite doesn't help the Ukrainian citizens nor AMerica's citizens. "Foreign Aid" to the Ukraine isn't reaching people we want to help, and is draining the US of TAX PAYER money and weapons we cannot afford.

The video linked from the quotation in my last comment. Looks like a fleeing Russian column was hit pretty hard.

Yes. I'm guessing that's what happened. The past few weeks, though, there have been quite a few fights in the same region to the north and east of Kherson. The Ukrainians killed them out village by village before going into Kherson. Last word that I saw about the city proper, was that only special units were sent into kherson. ...units more trained for urban warfare, I reckon.

I saw this video, too. By now, we usually see pics and videos of dozens of completely destroyed Russian vehicles and dead Russian soldiers. But I only saw a video which shows a few abandoned vehicles, and no firefights in the city of Kherson. So I begin to wonder. Behaviors of civilians and Ukrainian soldiers in Kherson looked so casual and relaxed.

Perhaps such pics and videos will turn up later.

BTW, “Porky Pig” Prigozhin (latest top Russian commander) said that he wanted Russian units to dig in engineer style on the east (south) side of the River. They’ll still be sitting ducks, but I suspect that the Russians have another nasty plan for artillery bombardment on civilian targets.

We’ll see how that works out. I’m guessing that the more time Russians buy for their plans in that region, the worse it’ll be for them. Time will be on the side of the Ukrainians there (only my guess).

Yes. Ukrainians will be looking for mines and other hazards along the route of the rout towards the River. Much more is happening and may happen in and around that city during the days to come. News reports are very simplistic about the situation and possibilities there.
