With Conservatives point finger at Trump after GOP’s underwhelming election results: 'He's never been weaker'
Many conservatives say Tuesday's election results show it's 'time to move on' from Trump. (Fox News'', November 9, 2022), as well as the Wall Street Journal - what do Freepers think?

So Trump lost 2022 even though he holds no office, the GOP is going to win back the House and has a good shot at the Senate?

Um, yes, those lousy "Muh stolen election" turd candidates that he dropped in our laps and then sat on his wallet for.

Masters, Oz, Walker, Mastriano, Dixon, Bolduc... Am I missing anyone? All down in flames. Perfectly winnable seats if we had reasonable candidates but blown because of Trump.

And we'll win the House, barely, but we're not going to win the Senate. Masters is 100k votes behind and there's no way Walker wins the run-off without Kemp on the ballot.

I want to know why DeSantis has the support of Paul Ryan. I notice some of you Trump backstabbers are ignoring this little fact.

There has to be a reason!

If you want to define as you just did, there are Democrats who vote Republicanism and Republicans that vote for communism.

Trump is, more or less, a traditional Republican politician. Straight out of the 1950’s, he is. If that doesn’t appeal to the voter base, it’s because they want something else. They want traditional America. They want an America that is socialist.

I would retire “MAGA”.

It’s called “reverse the decline”.

Trump wasn’t on the ballot, and it wasn’t his job to get establishment Republicans elected.

That job belonged to Ronna McDaniel, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnel. They need to own the less than spectacular results of the midterms.

Trying to scapegoat Trump only shows their craven lust for power.

That said, Trump isn’t helping himself right now trashing DeSantis.

Interesting times indeed.

There is one big thing that no one is calling out in this cycle. In 1993, the Republicans were in lockstep opposing Hillarycare and the Clinton tax increases. In 2009, the Republicans were in lockstep opposing Obamacare and other bailouts. Both of the following midterms (1994 & 2010) we kicked ass because we were a united front.
In 2021, we had RINOs supporting Build Back Better, kicking MTG off committees, spending stimulus programs, etc. The midterm in 2022, was a puddle as a result.
There is plenty of criticism to go around but we have not been a united front prior to this cycle and we paid the price BIG TIME.
I think Kevin McCarthy has no business becoming Speaker nor does Mitch McConnell deserve to be Minority/Majority Leader. Plus, Ronna ROMNEY McDaniel needs to either be removed or resign. Trump supported McDaniel not just in 2017, he supported her after the 2018 midterm, and after the 2020 debacle. This is the third election on McDaniel’s watch that didn’t produce good fruit.
I am not denying there was cheating, I have no doubt that there was cheating. However, the RNC had two flippin years to develop a comprehensive GOTV plan customized for each state and today, we are no better off than two years ago.

If Lindsey Graham had not opened his big fat mouth about a nationwide abortion ban, abortion would not have been such a big issue for young, single women.

He knew what he was doing when he said it and got the reaction he wanted.

He and others like him are shameful.

Donald Trump is responsible for what wins we have had because the turnout was enormous for Republicans.

Ridiculous to think otherwise.

Still MAGA

I don’t want a Europeanized America. Independent voters want it. They think they can have lots of social programs that are paid out of high taxes. They want to live well on the future of your children.

I have no idea where you get your take on the election.

I live in Karenville NYS. Typical suburbia with all the Karens. Even a slice of NYC is part of my CD. We just flipped the seat red by 9 points.

Our Republican candidate was anti abortion and attended the January 6th protest.

Don't fall for it.

What's Freepers opinion on blaming Trump for the midterm elections?

Is Trump at fault? No. Is he the guy I want running in 2024? I'm no longer sure. I want a conservative to be sworn in as POTUS in January 2025. I no longer am sure that Trump can win, despite the absolute disaster that Biden has been. The economy was great under Trump, we were self-sufficient in energy - Biden has destroyed all of that, and yet polls show people dislike Trump more than they dislike Biden. That's true of independents, and they will decide the 2024 vote.

I put the blame on not enough comservatives/Republicans caring enough to get off their duffs and vote. Were they convinced that others would provide the “red tsunami” so what does one more vote matter? Were they convinced that the fix was in so what’s the use of bothering? Who knows?

I have voted in every local, state, and federal election since 1976. I take my citizenship rights and responsibilities seriously. I have never had to wait for someone to convince me to vote. I have never had to have someone lead my by the hand to the polls. I have voted when I knew that my candidates didn’t have a prayer of winning. But I voted and, even when things didn’t turn out my way, I at least got the right to complain. “Don’t blame me. I voted for X.”

With early voting, mail-in voting, etc., voting has become easier than ever. I voted the old-fashioned way by walking to my friendly neighborhood polling place at the American Legion. It was the easiest thing I did all day.
