Tennessee lawmakers have filed a bill to ban the controversial practice of pediatric medical gender transition in the state.
Tennessee Majority Leaders William Lamberth and Jack Johnson, both Republicans, introduced the Protecting Children from Gender Mutilation Act on Wednesday, November 9, which would effectively bar doctors from prescribing puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and performing gender-related surgeries on minors for the purpose of medical transition. It would also allow patients and their families to sue for damages and let the courts impose an additional $25,000 penalty for each violation.
“This bill is about protecting children,” said Johnson. “Under no circumstances should minors be allowed to undergo irreversible elective procedures to mutilate body parts and intentionally harm their reproductive systems. This practice comes with lifelong health complications that children are not capable of understanding.”

Bueno.
Good news!!
Here’s the problem. They’re not “treatments.” They’re mutilations. Calling them treatments means you’ve already lost much of the battle.
If a miner, whether he be a coal miner or mining diamonds, he should able to get trans treatments."
We’ll see if the legislative leaders and Governor Lee are serious heck I haven’t even read how much teeth the bill has.
Will business entities threaten if the bill is serious they very well could?
The Biden Justice Department will hit any signed legislation with any teeth hard in court.
My idea is probably a horrible idea, but I will just throw this out there —
I’ve heard a lot of people saying that the issue with the GOP is that it is out of step with a liberal country. They tell me that abortion worked against us. We are seen as repressive and controlling and large parts of the US population hate us for that.
I’m not sure that’s true at all.
But what if it is? What if the GOP just stopped fighting these fights? We wouldn’t have to vote to support the sexual mutilation of children. We could just abstain. We could say: “That’s a Democrat thing. We have zero involvement. We don’t care any more.”
Yes, that would be dereliction of duty and result in horrible things for some people. But would it ever turn things around? I think it might. The Democrats still tell people that we are racist and only care about rich corporations. We have a hard time shaking that. What if we just flagrantly gave up on these social issues and said “Don’t care” and simply focused on economic freedom for people?
The old ways don’t seem to work so well any more.
They need treatment in the head, not the genitalia.
The problem with that is they are grooming the kids behind parents’ backs.
So it doesn’t matter what the parents think, the schools will make sure it’s a done deal before you know it.
In the end the only way to stop the madness is to become another country. However liberals are so self-righteous they will fight tooth and nail to get their way.
Remember they see us as Nazis. Even though they do things that would make Dr. Mengele proud.
Can I have places where sane people still live for $200, Ken?
Yes.
I don’t think that’s a bad idea at all.
I’m pro life, but if the republicans would say “it’s a medical procedure to be discussed by the patient and doctor” they aren’t really saying anything - it’s a statement not a position.
Perhaps this strategy, like you mentioned, would take some of the crazy emotion out of these elections.
Well, in this particular case, by abandoning the issue we would consign a large number of children to life as sexually mutilated freaks with through-the roof suicide rates. That's just not acceptable.
The old ways don’t seem to work so well any more.
They seem to work just fine in Florida.
Jack Johnson is still around he must be getting old...
Conservative, good friend of Marsha Blackburn when she was in the TN legislature...
Good on the border and other Conservative America first issues...
At least they’re banning the mangling of youts in Tennessee.
And if the doctors object, we can use the precedent of certain state medical boards banning the off-label use of HCQ to treat COVID.
Just like abortions are health care for women...
Although I want to make it clear that I’m not sure my little idea is so swell, so I’m not truly trying to sell it to anyone, I will say this —
I think we are in a type of war. In war, you have a lot of losses. It’s often young men around 20 years old. It shouldn’t be children. But what I see is the Left sacrificing children behind their parent’s backs. That’s horrible. At some point, I think people would wake up and say “Look what the Left did to us”. If Republicans played no part at all, then we become a path to a better world. Yes, there would be losses. But I don’t think it would be like WWII.
I think the ultimate goal is to make this stuff like Thalidomide. We learned our lesson. We don’t give that drug to pregnant women any more. It’s unthinkable. No one would do that. I think the goal is to make this “gender reassignment” thing exactly like that. But if it is a tug-of-war argument, I think it might go on for many decades. I think it might be better just to let it run and have people see what it’s really like. They won’t like it.
Apparently, the old ways are working in Florida. DeSantis signed a law against abortion after 15 weeks into effect that didn’t even have an exception for rape and incest, and he won his re-election 59-41.
DeSantis also signed a law banning the teaching of weird sexual ideologies to kids in kindergarten to 3rd grade, and then after that, taught only on an age-appropriate basis. When Disney objected to this anti-grooming bill, DeSantis got the legislature to pass a bill effectively revoking Disney’s special district. And yet, he won his re-election 59-41.
So maybe in some cases, the GOP is simply fielding weak candidates, rather than the Democrats strictly having success on social issues.
Another of those places is Florida. Florida medical boards have banned transition insanity:

Well the problem with letting this thing run itself out goes back to what my high school history teacher said, and I’ve posted this at least 3 or 4 times.
Toward the end of a civilization one sees the rise of the eunuch class, to the point they gain power (we just elected one in MN).
Having no investment in the future of the country/empire the eunuchs live only for the day. Their debauchery spreads to the rest of the population.
Then a more vigorous culture comes along and subjugates the population that cannot care a whit about its own future.
By the way most Republics last around 150 years. We are at that point.
