From what I could make of it, they were pretty much not allowed a defense and the first court was wrong about jailing them
“On November 24, 1987, Hoyt was nominated by President Ronald Reagan to a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas vacated by Judge Carl Olaf Bue Jr. Hoyt was confirmed by the United States Senate on March 31, 1988, and received his commission on April 1, 1988. Hoyt was the second African American federal judge in the state of Texas. He took senior status on March 2, 2013.[1]”
Old guy appointed by Reagan? Reagan ? WTF
I find that regular news reports are rather uninformative and vague in comparison.
He apparently “grew” over his time on the Bench.
Barnes seems to really know his stuff. The pair are entertaining some weeks.
Affirmative Action appointment.
Ditto. Viva and Barnes are a great source.
Another is What are the Odds with Richard Baris (the most accurate pollster over the last decade) and Robert Barnes. They go over elections and polls in great detail breaking it down by voters’ background (yes it really matters if they are of Swedish vs Norwegian origin - yes even several generations later) and everything. They are doing a live stream on election night.
Yes. Barnes is not just a lawyer....he was the attorney for the Covington Kids and was one of Trump’s lawyers for election challenges.
He has also been a campaign consultant several times. So he knows a lot about voters/polls and knows the intricacies of how people cheat in elections...what they do, what to look for, how to stop election fraud, etc.
They should have NEVER been JAILED!! NEVER!!! SAME with the Jan6 people UNLESS they hurt a cop (Those were ANTIFA)!
“it really matters if they are of Swedish vs Norwegian origin”
My Grandparents were all on that in the 50s and 60s and 70s.
It was hysterical to me at the time.
Ya well at least you’ll see them coming... Js..
I read Gregg gave up the source
Post 35:
Now, the source for your statement about Gregg.
Baris and Barnes showed for example, the radically different voting patterns of ethnic Swedes vs ethnic Norwegians.
Swedes and Norwegians aren’t all that different back in their home countries, but the Norwegians who came to America were overwhelmingly salt of the earth, hard working farmers. The Swedes who came were more likely more urban and more professional. The values each group came with was transmitted to their kids and grandkids, etc.
Baris and Barnes do a good job of explaining how different areas often carry on the worldview and values of the people who settled that area originally. There is a reason why the South and New England hate each other even though both were settled by people from the British Isles. The groups they came from hated each other back home too! They each brought entirely different worldviews to America and hundreds of years later the two regions still reflect that.
Swedes and Norwegians who came to the US just after CW1 [homesteaders] could easily be different from the ones who arrived ~1910/1920 to hang out in the east coast cities.
So there are 4 cases. I’m gonna guess that the time of immigration matters more than the county of origin.
How in the heck, are they not allowed a defence? It seems like more and more Republicans are “not allowed” to def3nd themselves. How in the heck are the .eft getting away with this crap? If it was a liberal “not allowed” to defend th3mselves, all hell would break loose
Rivalry between Maine and NY too
A New York tourist drove into a sleepy Maine town. He pulled over in front of two men sitting on a bench. “How long’s this town been dead?” he asked. The reply: “Couldn’t be too long, you’re the first buzzard we’ve seen.”
