Except that we know differently and the people moving tend to be more conservative according to the studies.
What killed California was that they had almost no conservatives, their republicans were social liberals and rinos which meant they could not stand up to the left since they had no real social conservative foundation to fight from.
Working with the California GOP was largely a waste of time.
