You'd Better Be Prepared for the Perfect Transportation Storm
American Thinker ^ | 2 Nov, 2022 | John Green

It didn't have to be this way. But it is...and Secretary Mayor Pete Buttigieg is nowhere to be found.

We've all heard of the game "Where's Waldo?" Well, I've got a better question. As we look upon the hordes of federal parasites dedicated public servants, where's Pete? We're seeing the convergence of some dangerous circumstances — a perfect storm, if you will. But it's not a convergence of weather patterns, but problems with the transportation infrastructure. Yet Pete (Buttigieg) is nowhere to be found — at least not anywhere near the problems he's supposed to prevent.

Loaded ships are still waiting off the coast of California because there aren't enough trucks that meet the state's emission standards to unload them — and it's going to get worse in 2023, when more rules kick in. The ports are choked with cargo containers while perishables spoil and store shelves run empty. It's a government-created problem. What is the government's solution? Mandate that port employees work overtime loading the trucks that aren't there. It's government problem-solving 101.

The airline industry is plagued with cancelations and late flights. And it's not because of climate change (bad weather) or mechanical failures. It's because they don't have enough pilots. When we tried to control a virus by closing the country, pilots retired, others refused to comply with the vaccine mandate and were fired, and some unknown number took the vax and found they could no longer pass their physicals. But this time, Pete is on the case. He's told the airlines that the Department of Transportation will fine them if they don't hire more of the pilots that don't exist. That should light a fire under their executive tails.

But the deadliest transportation storm front is the approaching railroad strike.

I believe a union vote for strike triggers a 30 day cooling-off period. Thanksgiving would not necessarily be affected, other than sick-outs.

Strike or not, there is a problem with diesel fuel supply. It may be unavailable within the next 10 days. Trucks, trains, farm equipment, cargo handling equipment will be idled for want of fuel.

I have a feeling that either way, we lose.

If the Republicans take the Senate, and maybe the House, and other elections, then the democrats have nothing to lose by trying to destroy as much of this country as they can in the remaining couple months.

If they win, then there’s nothing stopping them.

Either way, does not bode well for us for a time.

Friends of ours were up in the Adirondacks last weekend and talked to a woman there who paid over $7 per gallon for home heating oil and usually requires three additional fill ups to get through the winter.

That pushes her heating bill for the winter to over $7,000!

There is still time, a window of opportunity, to keep prepping.

The best way is to shop often and buy just a little extra every time you shop. Not enough to be noticed, but enough to make a difference.

Don’t forget salt. It’s critical for survival and is not something readily available in nature except in a few locations. If supply chains disruptions happen, stuff like baking supplies and salt will not be had.

Also, don’t forget first aid stuff and OTC meds.

In my opinion, expect strikes and violence after the election as the Dims throw temper tantrums. They will turn ANTIFA loose. Anyone notice how the ANTIFA violence stopped once the Dims were in control?

Yeah, what a coincidence.

It's almost like it was planned or something.

This little 10 minute video explains where we are better than anything I have seen yet.

Types of Government, Explained

I learned more about governments and politics in this 10 minutes than all of public school.

A lot of people have become preppers over the last 2 years, who never thought they would.

Welcome! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Pete thought they said "bend and take it in the south end", and he has done that ever since.

If this is the case, what advantage is there to postpone the strike until after the Nov. 8 election?

Delaying the strike puts this off until after the election when the Democrat-controlled Congress may have to do something that pisses off the unions.

That maybe the law, but what would stop people from refusing to report to work. Would Biden have the balls to fire a bunch of railroad workers like Reagan did with the air traffic controllers?

Totally different scenario. The air traffic controllers were Federal employees. The railroad workers aren't.

If railroad employees refuse to report for work after they have a contract forced on them, they have fired themselves and will be replaced.

And it would be good for others to do so also, although it’s a bit late to just be starting to learn to grow your own food.

And buy heirloom seeds and learn how to save seeds yourself.

Very true.

I also have a huge collection of canning jars, extra lids, and several pressure cookers and water bath canners.

I purchased quite a bit of wheat, rye, buckwheat, oats and barley directly from another farmer that I can use as seed, sprouts, flour, or process for other food.

I can go totally off grid if necessary.

This is not about stockpiling, but sustainability. I have enough fish in the pond, stream and river. Enough wild game.

I grew up a poor hillbilly. Learned the edible wild foods from my parents as we harvested and canned them.

I’m not concerned at all. I trust God to guide me through it, and if I don’t survive, that’s ok too.

Growing up, we used an outhouse and carried buckets of water from the spring. Every hot meal, you built wood fire in the cookstove year round. I still have the old farmhouse cookstove.

It’s about sustainability, helping others, and building community. Primarily, it’s about guiding people to fins a relationship with Jesus.

I read on this forum that the fuel situation was not bad and it’s always this way. That articles like this are just fear mongering. I know what I posted was true. Haven’t scrolled down to see if they are already here.
