It didn't have to be this way. But it is...and Secretary Mayor Pete Buttigieg is nowhere to be found.
We've all heard of the game "Where's Waldo?" Well, I've got a better question. As we look upon the hordes of federal parasites dedicated public servants, where's Pete? We're seeing the convergence of some dangerous circumstances — a perfect storm, if you will. But it's not a convergence of weather patterns, but problems with the transportation infrastructure. Yet Pete (Buttigieg) is nowhere to be found — at least not anywhere near the problems he's supposed to prevent.
Loaded ships are still waiting off the coast of California because there aren't enough trucks that meet the state's emission standards to unload them — and it's going to get worse in 2023, when more rules kick in. The ports are choked with cargo containers while perishables spoil and store shelves run empty. It's a government-created problem. What is the government's solution? Mandate that port employees work overtime loading the trucks that aren't there. It's government problem-solving 101.
The airline industry is plagued with cancelations and late flights. And it's not because of climate change (bad weather) or mechanical failures. It's because they don't have enough pilots. When we tried to control a virus by closing the country, pilots retired, others refused to comply with the vaccine mandate and were fired, and some unknown number took the vax and found they could no longer pass their physicals. But this time, Pete is on the case. He's told the airlines that the Department of Transportation will fine them if they don't hire more of the pilots that don't exist. That should light a fire under their executive tails.
But the deadliest transportation storm front is the approaching railroad strike.

That'll fix everything!
It’s not just the shipping industry, airline industry or perhaps a national rail strike that are potential problems, where is Pete Buttigieg on our dwindling supply of diesel fuel, it’s a perfect storm of transportation disasters.
Ship can’t deliver the goods, the railroads are all on strike, truckers are out of diesel fuel and the airlines can’t operate on time.
We may have to resort to pack mules if things continue under this disastrous President.
And what is the deep State?
The foundation of the deep state is the 17th Amendment.
The day to day minions of the deep state are the members of the Senior Executive Service.
It’s time for a Convention of States to specifically repeal the 17th Amendment and eliminate the Senior Executive Service.
Our Founding Father’s were not stupid!
Buttgag is likely recovering from his version of an unexpected backdoor invader.
That maybe the law, but what would stop people from refusing to report to work.
Would Biden have the balls to fire a bunch of railroad workers like Reagan did with the air traffic controllers ??
If Biden did fire a bunch of railroad workers who could take their place in an emergency...
I’m not trying to say you’re wrong just throwing out bad scenarios of what could happen because with this group in charge, even really crazy ideas have a way of coming true.
Perfect storm is damn right, and but for the grace of God this will be a monster just before the holidays. MONSTER for the reasons author Green describes so well.
A convergence of diesel, rail and government virtually bringing everything to a halt....which raises the specter of a new congress or more likely a lame duck congress.
If Biden fails to act will they override the Prez and alienate the greenies? Such action would require cooperation from exiting Ds in the house and senate.
If this lingers until a new house is seated and with 55-57 R senators, we’re close to an override of energy stifling regulations.
I fear more jobs lost, more businesses closed for good, hung on Biden and non-cooperative Ds, whether they’ve lost in Nov. or return in January.
Hang on. Prepare.
re: govt. takeover of energy sector.
Never let a crisis go to waste. Realize this could be all be by design.
Friends may come and friends may go,
And some friends peter out you know.
But we’ll be friends through thick or thin,
Peter out, or peter in...
It's official. We now live in Alice's Wonderland so we suggest: avoid the Queen of Hearts.
“is the actual figure 25 days”
Yes, IF all the refineries STOPPED making diesel we would run out in 25 days. However, they are making diesel every day. The average is 34 days supply of diesel. The most it has ever been since the end of WW2 is 54 days.
It is bad timing. This is because people(like me) in NH heat our homes in the winter with #2 home heating oil. Which is chemically almost identical to diesel fuel, minus the red dye and a couple other additives.
The root of the problem is that no petroleum processing company is going to spend BILLIONS to build a new refinery in the political environment in the USA. Especially when CA, MA and other states are mandating EVs in 13 years. SO, anytime a refinery goes down for maintenance or some EPA issue there is not enough supply to make up the slack.

11/2/22 Cargill announced no more intake of corn and beans at facilities along Mississippi River.
Increased transportation costs associated with this. Increase costs of food
“Ship can’t deliver the goods, the railroads are all on strike, truckers are out of diesel fuel and the airlines can’t operate on time.”
I have never been a prepper until the last year. I have always stocked up on things like paper towels and other non perishables when they were on sale. Now, I have months worth of non perishables.
Based on your statement, people would be CRAZY not to have an extra months worth of food, TP, fuel, firewood, cash, bullets, and other essentials on hand. Plus, everything I bought is now more expensive.
And some idiots are demanding the government federalize the energy sector.
The left has successfully brainwashed the masses….as we’ve seen hard proof of, these past 2+ years.
...the United States now has less than 25 days of diesel stocks, the lowest level
since 2008—and down from 34.2 days during the previous four weeks. The fuel
is already being rationed in the Northeast, with suppliers in several states forced
to conserve heating oil as the winter months approach. New England’s stockpiles
are at less than a third of their usual levels for this time of year and the lowest
levels since April 1992...The Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve holds one million barrels of diesel in
case of a disruption in supplies. However, diesel demand is so high, that if a
million barrels of diesel were delivered from the Northeast reserve, those barrels
would be depleted in less than six hours.
It’s been 25 days for about three weeks so far. Diesel must be getting replaced exactly as it is being used.
I have a somewhat warped sense of humor or things that are interesting to me.
Here is Florida, anytime a hurricane appears to be coming near where I live, I am always amazed at the people freaking out, grocery stores running out of water, gas stations running out of fuel, etc.
The latest was hurricane Ian, where I live was not in the path of the storm, but I watched people buying multiple bottles of LP Gas for their stoves, water, etc...
The same thing happened with Covid, people literally went crazy, it as a real learning experience of watching people collectively lose their minds.
If we get a transportation super storm, it will be interesting to watch the panic and how people react.

(My Comment): When you eliminate meritocracy, you get the government that you,(and hundreds of molding cadavers voted for), and foreign governments imposed.
You are witnessing the exact explanation of the "Peter Principal" incarnate - people rising to the level of their incompetency - whatever did you expect ?
I am somewhat aware of my own personal limitations, but these people are not! They have been blinded by their own arrogance, computer projections, and intellectual incompetence.
There has been no settlement of the Railroad strike (!), now scheduled to occur around November 19th, .. baring any Congressional intervention.
There is insufficient diesel for trains that fuel the electric generators that power locomotives anyway, as well as insufficient diesel for truckers for distribution centers, anyway.
So that means no re-supply of grocery stores, retail or commercial stores, or manufacturing facilities, so there will be massive lay-offs, and will be no such thing as inexpensive food.
All airlines have followed the Federal government dictate to terminate any pilots who didn't get the vaxx; and many of those pilots who complied are now physically incapacitated.
So now ask yourself :" Where's Waldo ?"
He/ she/ it/ them/ theirs (chosen personal pronouns) are probably off on another maternity/ paternity/ avuncular/ 'crazy uncle' leave of absence until the tsunami passes,
except that it won't !
Prepare accordingly ! OODA loop !
“The strike date was set after Election Day so Congress can deal with it during the lame duck session instead of pissing off union members before the midterm elections.:
Then the Dims will not take the blame for the strike, it is all these mean Pubbies. In my opinion, expect strikes and violence after the election as the Dims throw temper tantrums. They will turn ANTIFA loose. Anyone notice how the ANTIFA violence stopped once the Dims were in control?
During the Great Recession I started using coupons and frequenting a website called:
How to Shop for Free
They promoted buying things when they were on sale and adding a coupon to them to reduce the price even further. Sometimes, you literally could buy things for free. I even bought coupons on EBAY. At one point I had 6 cases of Marcal Paper towels and toilet paper. I had multiple tubes of Colgate toothpaste and a year supply of deodorant.
I may start to do this again to some extent.
Who is John Galt?
