Jones laughed off the costume, but it is unclear if the NFL will share the same sense of humor

Billionaire Jerry Jones' wallet could become slightly lighter if the NFL decides to fine him for his Halloween costume.

The longtime owner of the Dallas Cowboys dressed up as a "blind referee" for Halloween.

The costume featured Jones in a striped referee shirt, sunglasses and a walking stick.

The photo of Jones in the outfit was posted to his niece’s social media account

That is a truly hilarious costume. What a great idea.

It doesn’t sound like something the NFL should be worried about - humor.

Such sensitivity. Flag football rules will soon be implemented.

You can’t go offending indigenous referees, you know.

JJ wants goodell fired but can’t get enough owners to get it done. Could the refs be throwing games or helping to keep the point spread. Or making the games close. Sure. They have a lot to watch throughout the game. The Cowboys have a player named Parsons that is a stud. He has been getting obviously held most games in front of the refs and it’s not called. There is bad or missed calls in every game. If the team playing is your favorite team you notice these bad or non calls more.

There’s no bias there. No “hate speech.” No minority group is being mocked. The right pronouns are being used.

So, the cancel culture has expanded to anything anybody anywhere doesn’t like.

Unless the referee jersey boasted the NFL logo, there is nothing to support that JJ was dissing the NFL. Basketball and soccer refs also wear striped jerseys.

If memory serves me correctly, Mark Cuban donned a ref costume and pretended to get into it with somebody. I think everybody laughed it off but feathers were ruffled.

I’m a Cowboys fan but not a Jones fan. But I love it.

Yep. As one of the Old Guys at work, it’s my duty to crack corny jokes every now and then. The younger engineers usually don’t even understand the humor. The 40 plus ones do, and we elders get a good chuckle. Example: “Why did the bumblebee wear a yarmulke? So people wouldn’t mistake him for a WASP!” Corny, silly, a little quirky. Two people out of 8 or so got it, and had a good laugh. The others just stood there, not knowing what just happened. One asked for it to be explained, so it was. Another then noted that such humor might not be appropriate in a work environment. Good Lord. As a full-on WASP, I thought it was hilarious 35 years ago, and still do. These kids don’t know how to have fun. At All.

Good outfit/costume. But I’m partial to the cowboy cheerleader costumes.

“Why did the bumblebee wear a yarmulke? So people wouldn’t mistake him for a WASP!”

That's a joke that Maury Amsterdam from "The Dick Van Dyke Show" would say. Great humor.

No, and I think the whole thing is ridic.

Just wondering what basis they have for a “fine”, which as I said, appears to be “deprivation of property without due process of law”.
