RE: TRUTH COPS: Leaked Documents Outline DHS’s Plans to Police Disinformation
I reckon they're trying to set up a system where they can go after the domain names of websites.
So for example they could seize "FreeRepublic.com" or "Infowars.com" (as an example).
DOJ already do this in criminal and some civil matters I believe (like copyright infringements) and I reckon they want to expand this more widely.
It's a nightmare scenario for owners of these domains and websites because it will knock you off-line.
I've thought about it and think this is the only way to truly take someone down because with hosting providers you can always find another one or move overseas etc. but if they seize the domain name you're pretty much done.
Insights welcome.
Hypocritical how lefties can lie their little idiot heads off, and the media never bats an eye.
Tim Pool will be gone by the week’s end.
There is also a “chilling” effect.
Site owners do not want their assets seized.
You can kiss goodbye to /conspiracy section and online discussion places will be more moderated.
Simply wont be worth the hassle.
Aah yes, that’s true but if they’re able to seize the domain it makes things difficult.
I’d put money on it but I don’t have any. Watching my 401 fall out of the sky like a dead naked body.
Seems like a clear cut 1st Amendment violation. Expedite to the USSC.

We dont know how judges will rule.
The USG (some say “Fedzilla”) has broad authority over the internet including over .com names.
There are also various statues with give them broad powers.
If they want to abuse or expand those powers they can.
It will take some outrage and years to rectify.
Also don’t forget the chilling effect it has that I posted about...
Ham radio doesn’t carry smart phone signals.
That’s not how it works.

typo!
I’m just trying to put myself in their shoes and how I would go about it.
I suspect they will do this soon and will pick something unpopular maybe like the example I used of infowars.
Even posters on here will cheer its demise but it would set a dangerous precedent.
They already have set the precedent with sites who do flagrant copyright abuse of movies, etc. they just have to expand those powers under some BS definition.
Bttt
You’re welcome.
And note, one need not build it, Hamm data phones can be purchased. I’ll let you do the homework on that.
