Julia Roberts revealed that the late Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King, paid the hospital bill for her birth when her parents couldn’t afford it.

“One day Coretta called my mother and asked if her kids could be part of the school because they were having a hard time finding a place that would accept her kids,” Roberts said, referring to segregation in the 1960s.

It previously has been reported that a Ku Klux Klan member blew up a car outside one of Betty and Walter Roberts’ plays in response to King Jr’s daughter Yolanda being cast in a role where she had to kiss a white actor.

Her parents couldn’t afford to pay the bill?
White privileged exploitation again. Ai ya.
My delicate inner sense of complete bull shit is triggered....
Hollywood types will do anything to get attention. When was the last time she made a good movie?
Julia Roberts’ parents were from Georgia and from pretty modest families. Her mother was an actress, but not exactly a star or even a starlet.
So I think the story is pretty believable.
Why didn’t she mention this before?
Was she ashamed that her parents couldn’t pay, and now she’s not ashamed?
If she says she started on the varsity football team at the University of Delaware with a dude named Corn Pop…be suspicious.
I remember when Nelson Mandela paid the bill for my birth and then sent me Christmas cards and salutations until he kicked the bucket. I just loved that old fart 🙄
The Ku Klux Klan is and was southern Protestant Democrats who targeted religious Jews and Catholics and prominent black and white Republicans.
Consider the possibility that there may be pleasant motives.
Wow...this comes completely out of left field. Wonder what some will have to say about how he did this for Whitey.
It might. they had a school. King was having a problem getting his kids accepted. Julia’s parents accepted them.
So it isn’t like there was no connection between the two families.
She said this 16 years ago. She said it again and the paper used it to fill space.
I did.
This seems like something a person from Hollywood would brag about…..years earlier.
I could smell it through my phone.
Wasn’t she a big star last century?
I would think she would have mentioned it then.
My delicate inner sense of complete bull shit is triggered....
I will buy that!!!
