I don’t buy “we’ll run out of” predictions. You don’t just run out of natural resources. Rather, the cost to obtain increases over time. Also, over time new sources of the materials are typically discovered as the increasing prices of the materials promotes exploration..

There are ample deposits, financially do-able ones, in 1st world countries, like the US. But, state and federal authorities have banned their exploitation.
Why?

To show you that THEY are in charge. And, outsourcing same to other countries (like China) allows for significant money laundering that cannot be traced — or, at least won’t.

A 96-year old ‘national treasure’ preaches we have to pay any price to satisfy the new cult of the green god.
Well, there we have it. His critique is nothing more than an old fart basking in the glow of underserved media acclaim.

So as one not conversant with the battery deg process, what happens to
the lithium or cobalt? Can these be recycled or brought back to spec/remanufactured? Changed irreparably? If so, to what?

Just asking about the technicalities rather than the political view.

Batteries can be recycled but reclaiming the lithium and cobalt is an expensive process, until someone comes up with a faster and cheaper method..............

Most people don’t drive 400 miles a day! If you do take a long trip, charge to full. No problem.

Always try to have an answer for you EV nonsense that fails miserably. Keep trying, Mr 1200hp EV that no one can afford and only last for 30-45minutes. You’re a cool guy.

If you want a toy car, buy one. As I have said and so many others. You, nor anyone else, deserves any special treatment or tax breaks for you fealty to a car salesman. And you’re too blind to see how you’re being played.

So, you don’t fully fill your gas tank every day.

EV’s living in your head

No. Not on any day of the week. I just point out, like so many others, that EV shills like you are actually textbook morons. Sure, you can spout technical specs. Specs that, at the end of the day, matter for nothing.

You and your ilk will massage each other in lithium batteries and try to tell the world that Musk is a God. Pretty soon, you’ll have to accept reality for what it is and that you’re a moron.

” Musk is a God.”

Musk is not God but he is anti-woke, anti-union and a very good business man.

Unless you’re his right hand man and have in-depth conversations with him, you have ZERO idea what he is.

He’s playing everyone. And you’re too EFFIN’ stupid to realize it.

He coddles China. He has sold out to China, the biggest enemy this country has. But that’s ok, he gets the batteries for his toy cars from China, so all is well.

You, just like him, are a fraud.

I imagine reclaiming the lithium and cobalt itself would use a certain amount of energy!

Congress and Brandon just gave John Podesta $370 Billion in walkin’ around Greeny money to spread out among rat criminal businesses.

Solyndra x1,000.

Gotta’ subsidize the vanity purchases of the well-to-do.

So the satellite Titan had former living organisms? Because there’s a lot of hydrocarbons there, too. Some Russian geophysicists first proved oil is abiotic back in the 1950s, iirc.

Doesn’t solve the problem of supply and don’t forget all the copper needed to expand the grid, there isn’t enough.
