Members of “The Squad” – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley – were among 30 signatories on the letter urging Biden to calm tensions.
30 Democratic US Congressmembers – most notably the young progressives who have become colloquially known as “The Squad” – penned a letter to President Joe Biden’s administration on Monday in which they ask the administration to avoid direct military conflict and attempt to bring Russia and Ukraine to a ceasefire.
“Given the catastrophic possibilities of nuclear escalation and miscalculation, which only increase the longer this war continues, we agree with your goal of avoiding direct military conflict as an overriding national-security priority,” the letter read.

“The alternative to diplomacy is a protracted war, with both its attendant certainties and catastrophic and unknowable risks,” the letter continues.
The signers of the letter also pointed to the food and commodity crises brought upon by the war as reasons to seek an end to the war. “Economists believe that if the situation in Ukraine is stabilized, some of the speculative concerns driving higher fuel costs will subside and likely lead to a drop in world oil prices.”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, perhaps the most recognized member of “The Squad,” was criticized by protesters at a scheduled speech in October for “supporting” the war, as they accused her of not advocating hard enough for an end to the war.

A little too late methinks, but miracles can happen.
The very fact that there hasn’t been any apparent (i.e., publically visible) effort to negotiate a ceasefire by anyone in Europe or the U.S. tells us that perhaps they/we don’t want a ceasefire.
If we surrender to RUSSIA now, we will ease the dangers of nuclear escalation.
The Squad is now taking the same position as President Trump and Elon Musk.
A subplot of the entire mess in Ukraine might be that the globalists and Climate Change army (but I repeat myself) don't want a drop in world oil prices.
Higher oil prices make bad ideas like windmills and solar cells look less ridiculous.
Can economies around the world still function with higher oil prices? Of course not. But the globalists and climate change nuts are not from the practical world. Like academics and school children everywhere, they are creating their own "reality."

I honestly remember when the squad was AOC and the 2 muslims. Anyone know the story of how Ayanna Pressley was brought in? I’m guessing they added her for “diversity” as the squad needed to appear less white
What took them so long? Being yelled at by their own voters at town halls?
But there actually has been. Turkey and Poland come to mind and a few others. However, they were all rejected by Victoria Nuland and her ilk.

Turns out a “war in Europe” wasn’t as popular as the Biden admin thought it was going to be. Probably too late now to help with the mid terms even if it ended today
It’s amazing how many people here think that we’re currently at war with Russia.
It’s not entirely wrong though. Americans may not be dying on the battlefield (yet) but we’re certainly funding the entire effort. This war would’ve been over in March had we not propped up the Ukrainian forces with countless billions of dollars in American largesse.
After Tucker Carlson called them out for funding the war….lol. Friggin hypocrites.
