Participants who were fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated and unvaccinated reported four of the same main symptoms: A sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough and a headache.
Many of the symptoms of any viral infection can be similar, making it tough to tell the difference between Covid-19, influenza or a common cold without getting tested. One of the big differences is shortness of breath and the loss of smell and taste for Covid, which are not likely experiences for the flu or colds.
Common cold symptoms include a mild cough, a stuffy nose, sneezing, a sore throat, aches, and a short fever period. Chills and shortness of breath are not symptoms, and nausea, headaches and loss of taste/smell are rare.
Flu symptoms include a dry cough, fever, aches, headache and fatigue or weakness; sometimes symptoms can include a stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea and chills. Sneezing is not a symptom, and shortness of breath and loss of taste/smell are rare.
Covid symptoms include a dry cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever, aches, nausea, chills, headaches, loss of taste/smell and fatigue/weakness. Chest tightness also occurs sometimes and sneezing is rare.
People with the flu can feel symptoms within 1-4 days, whereas Covid patients can experience them up to 14 days after infection; both can present as asymptomatic.

Be scared, everybody!! And stay scared!!
Well, according to the article it’s quite difficult to tell the difference between covid and the common cold. So, you’re not too scared, I would hope.
IMO, the more the population is ‘vaxxed’ the more it spreads, asymptomatic or not.
It’s always been like this, it was just ignored and only outlyingvserious cases focused on. That’s ok if the more common cases aren’t excluded from consideration to keep things in context. But that’s not how it went down.
Will this flu season coming up be a no show again?
Ping.
Oh, the HORROR!!! Quick! Everyone get another booster! And while you're at it, why not just let them lobotomize you and kill off the handful of functioning brain cells you actually have?
We need to postpone elections, have all mail-in voting and allow Negro votes to count 2 for everything Cis white man.
Yeah, particularly after they've strapped you down in a hospital bed and jammed a ventilator down your throat.
Not at all scared. I had CoVid in May. It was milder than a few other colds that I’ve had in my life. My older sister who isn’t in great shape just finished with it. She’s fine. My 94 year old MIL had it in August. She’s fine.
Covid is now endemic and the tests for Covid have had a very high false positive rate. Regardless of what is really causing your symptoms there is a pretty good chance that tests for covid will come back positive. And despite assurances that people would be tested for the flu concurrently... it probably will not happen in most cases. So yes, once again covid hysteria will reign supreme during flu season.
“A sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough and a headache.”
I get that after cleaning out the garage.
Must be a ChiCom WuHu Flu HotSpot?
FWIW - My “Shot” for a cure?
A comfy chair and just a “sampling” of Macallan 18
Flu season here in Australia has been in full blast with a couple of nasty ones having done the rounds. Considering the difference in southern and northern hemisphere seasons and the fact that most of the worst strains come out of China, I’m not sure how bad your upcoming winter will be.
I found that after having had COVID any flu I’ve picked up since really smashed my lungs.
So its just like a cold except you should live in irrational fear of it.
The article says: “making it tough to tell the difference between Covid-19, influenza or a common cold without getting tested”
Repeat after me:
The tests are accurate.
The tests are accurate.
The tests are accurate.
If you repeat it over and over again it might become true.
Magic!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s exactly right.
Husband has it now and all I keep thinking is, “THIS variant kept us locked down after the bad one went away?” He’s being paranoid to keep from infecting me. While I think that’s very sweet of him, I’ve stopped all worries about getting it and am just fascinated by seeing whether it IS possible to stop the spread of something by such means.
In the “old days” one just took for granted that one member of a family getting something infectious meant that everyone would. If extreme behavior modification for the duration really does keep something contained, then maybe some teeny good might be yanked out of this morass of insanity.
