it turns out that zooming in on an ant’s face is an absolute nightmare.
A close-up photograph of an ant was sent in as a submission to the 48th annual Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition — and the results are freaky.
The tight shot of the tiny insect, captured by Dr. Eugenijus Kavaliauskas of Taurage, Lithuania, shows the ant’s beady red eyes, angry expression and what appears to be long, sharp teeth.

You seem to be alluding to that “study” from 2014, which estimated ants to be able to carry up to 5,000 times their body weight, which is 100 times the previous estimate of fifty times body weight (expecting a 3-milligram ant to be able to carry 15 grams of anything is stretching it).
Certainly a lot of artistic license with that image of an ant’s face. The eyes are deliberately left out, as well as the detail of the mandibles.
