My dad loves those movies and collects them. He was a teen in the 1950s and says his favorite movie of all time is "The Thing from another world" which speaking of James Arness, he also played the Thing in this movie. My dad said the one scene that freaked him out is when they find the space ship in the ice and they are all standing in a circle around it lol. That's a loooong time ago, 1951

Well that’s if they could overcome Democrats fixing the elections

In every movie I watch from the fifties
There’s only one thought that swirls around my head now
And that’s that everyone there on the screen
Yeah, everyone there on the screen, well, they’re all dead now
They’re all dead now
And it ain’t easy living above
And I can’t help but keep falling in love with bones and ashes
With bones and ashes

Well yes, a glamour shot could even make me look handsome!
With a good photographer.
And an expert Photoshop hand...

Sometimes when talking to liberal boomers and gen X and they are negative about America of the past I mention how they probably liked everyone they met born in the 1800s, and many did meet lots of friendly and lovable people born in the 1800s.

Female ants are blind. And they always complain that the male ants never stop and ask for directions.

That is truly a critter face from hell…
Look up a science-fiction book from 1971 or thereabouts called “Cold War in a country garden“. About a miniaturized scientist and agent trying to survive in his own country estate garden. The insect world Is a terrifying and brutal place.
I have a paperback copy of it somewhere, and I read it when I was a kid, and it is a horrifying story.

Grim, but poignant. Yeah. My 94 year old mom has outlived all her friends.
It resonates.
