A Florida man who robbed a bank while armed with a machete was sentenced to federal prison.
Herve Fils Viaud, 31, was sentenced today by United States District Judge William P. Dimitrouleas to 78 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for robbing TD Bank in Delray Beach, Florida.
On February 1, 2022, Viaud walked into a TD Bank wielding a machete. Viaud threatened to hurt several bank employees with the machete unless he was given money. Fearing for their lives, the employees gave Viaud approximately $1,234.
A bank customer called 911 and reported the getaway car used by Viaud to leave the bank. Subsequently, the Delray Beach Police Department, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and Miami Gardens Police Department pursued Viaud.
Police followed the man onto I-95, heading towards Boyton Beach.
Authorities said the Viaud then traveled south through Broward County and into Miami-Dade County, where he led Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Miami-Dade police on a high-speed chase.

It's an agranam!
Regards,
Yeah, guess that’s what I get.
Typing as a second language. And it doesn’t seem to matter how much I type. I always manage to screw it up.
Amazing that nothing of importance was damaged!
Were any of the perps ever arrested for the crime?
Regards,
And I live 1234 feet above sea level!
It is not like he was wandering around capital hill taking selfies.
That sucks. I surmise that it was more dangerous to try to remove it than to leave it there?
Yes.
There wasn’t any arthroscopic procedure back then; only a massive incision so the surgeon could get his hand in there, and felt around for the bullet. The incision would have been worse than the bullet, so we decided to leave it lie where it was.
I was kept overnight for ‘observation’ and discharged next morning.
I would have liked to get it out and wear it on a small chain around my neck.
I had an angel on my shoulder, that night,
Does it ever hurt?
Is that one of them there new fangled assault machetes?
I get an occasional little “twinge” on cold, damp days, probably just to remind me that it’s still there. Heh.
It’s a STREET SWEEPER Machete.
It may have been a GHOST machete printed out out on a 3D printer with NO serial number.
