The San Francisco 49ers traded for Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey late Thursday night, according to multiple sources.
The Carolina Panthers will receive second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-round picks for McCaffrey, who was on the team since his rookie season in 2017.
This acquisition is huge for the 49ers. The San Fran offense led by Jimmy Garoppolo makes the 49ers a serious threat to win the National Football Conference if not the Super Bowl. The quick and crafty McCaffrey will play alongside other All-Pro players on the 49ers offense such as Deebo Samuel and George Kittle now. McCaffrey makes the San Fran offense very tough to defend. In the previous season, Deebo Samuel looked like one of the best players in the NFL as both a running back and a wide receiver. He had 98 total yards and a touchdown in the 49ers’ loss to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams, in the NFC Championship game.
Taking the load off of Samuel to give an elite running back like McCaffrey as many carries, if not more, will make this offense seem impossible to defend.
NFL PING!........................
Overpaid boneheads.
A running back with 5 years in the NFL? Sounds like a single season purchase.
They didn’t contact me to ask how this would affect my fantasy football team.
Maybe not even a single season purchase. McCaffery is indeed a great talent, but is often injured. The 49'ers really did not give up much and McCaffery will be a fan favorite in the Bay Area with his Stanford background.
They have given away far too much for a back that has a injury history in the pro’s.
If white people would wake up and stop living their lives vicariously through an athlete or team the nfl would collapse into what it really should be......just another entertainment medium and these obscene contracts would cease to exist.....that goes for mlb and nba as well BTW.
The nfl team in my town hasn’t gotten a dime from me in a long long time and I intend on keeping it that way, and if they decided to move out tomorrow I’d get drunk for joy.
My Alma Mater University of Northern Colorado hired Ed as their head coach. I think they've won two games this year.
I've really soured on team sports in recent decades. They used to be role models. That hasn't been true since at least the 70's.
But, but, the most important question is, what does Colin Kaepernick think about this?
Those who can, do.
Those who can’t, teach.
Those who can’t teach, coach.
Those who can’t coach, bitch..................... 😜
I feel bad for McCaffrey. Everybody is leaving San Francisco and he has to move in because of his job.
I don’t know dude. The Cowboy defense is for real this year....overpowering. They could win it all. They really could.
He can live in Marin County and never set foot in SF..............
And almost all that behavior is coming from one particular racial group.
This data is always interesting
I’m laughing at how bad the Broncos are doing. There was serious talk once upon a time about hiring Kaepernick.
Victory and moral integrity go hand in hand.
SF plays their games 50 miles south of the city. Not that living in the Santa Clara valley is all that great shakes.
McCaffrey is a honky, so the high yellow cuck is mad.
