If white people would wake up and stop living their lives vicariously through an athlete or team the nfl would collapse into what it really should be......just another entertainment medium and these obscene contracts would cease to exist.....that goes for mlb and nba as well BTW.

The nfl team in my town hasn’t gotten a dime from me in a long long time and I intend on keeping it that way, and if they decided to move out tomorrow I’d get drunk for joy.

Unfortunately, I live in the land of the Cult of the Dallas Cowboys, a long-mediocre if not subpar team which somehow retains a stale reputation as "America's Team." It's infested with gangbangers, drug pushers and general social scum.

I've really soured on team sports in recent decades. They used to be role models. That hasn't been true since at least the 70's.

I can’t even remember the last individual athelete who I “lived vicariously through”, if you want to put it that way. Many of us more casual ‘sports fans’ tend to root for the front of the jersey (your local teams) and not the names on the back. I am in no way under the illusion that anyone who plays for the local teams isn’t perfectly happy to sign somewhere else for more $$$

I haven’t spent my own personal money on a professional sport event since the 90’s.

That does not mean, however, that I don’t follow sports at all.
