Video surfaced after the 60 Minutes appearance...........
Deion tells his students like it is.....................
NFL Ping!......................
Pretty good...for an FSU guy...
IIRC, he’s also an ordained minister.......................
Wow. More people should hear that.
Very good.
I used to watch the 48ers practice in Redwood City, before they had won anything. There were no fences, and not many people watching. .... Later on I remember a story about Jerry Rice. The week after one of the many Superbowl wins, he was at the practice field, running routes, running hard. Look for a video of Rice after he joined the Raiders. John Gruden talks about the young Raiders just out of college, thinking they can take on Rice. Rice had a mountain he would run. No one, even Terrell Owens, could run the entire thing, let alone run hard. Those new, 22 year old Raiders learned a thing or two trying to keep up. Practice may not make you perfect, but it does make you better. For all those in the audience in the video, the discipline and structure you practice will be useful for the rest of their lives.
I am in the collegiate setting at a major midwestern University, and this kind of coach and his attitudes would be welcome ANY time.
White or black, this man says what NEEDS to be said to todays' "wannabe's".
Good on ya Deon!
Prime Time........
Always liked Deion, despite going to FSU.
He was an outstanding athlete. He outran Safeties and Cornerbacks while high stepping...
He was super cocky, but not mean. More entertaining, almost like a movie character. I don’t recall him getting in any trouble off of the field.
Tim McCarver sure loved him some Deion, thought he was a real man.
“He was an outstanding athlete.’
” He won two Super Bowl titles and made one World Series appearance in 1992, making him the only athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series.”
The above is something close to impossible, good for him, if he does something as a college football coach (he’s certainly starting that) then that will be amazing. Any chance in the NFL Coach? but don’t count him out.
We’ll see. I’m not sure of his intellect or football IQ.
I bet guys would like him though.
Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. (in my opinion)
He’s not a good coach, and I can see why.
You can’t tell other people to just dribble past three people and dunk on the fourth’s head...
Most head coaches, I think, are former QBs or Middle LBs.
My pick for best athlete is Bo Jackson.
