I don’t know where this started, but it is not an old recipe from the rural South. Most Southerners had never heard of it until a few years ago when it appeared down here. Many of us think it is a vile combination. If it’s from down here, it must have been some localized thing. I am an old rural Southerner in Alabama so I’d know if it was a “thing”.
