Gen Zers are calling out the popular thumbs-up emoji for being “rude” and “hostile,” even saying they feel attacked whenever they see it used in the workplace.
“For younger people, the thumbs-up emoji is used to be really passive-aggressive,” a 24-year-old Redditor wrote. “It’s super rude if someone just sends you a thumbs up,” they added. “So I also had a weird time adjusting because my workplace is the same.”
Several Reddit users agreed with the decision to cancel the emoji, saying that using it in a work environment makes the team members “unaccommodating” and seem “unfriendly.”

Why is it my problem that you are uncomfortable?
Adults manage their own emotional content.
What’s really funny is I have no problem being rude
Gen Z? Spit...a worthless lot. Bannon had me rolling on the floor the other day when he and Cortes stated that these progressive half-wits would NEVER, EVER own a home. LOLOL!
Where’s that Chuck Norris pic?
There are memes where the thumbs up is being used in that sarcastic way the gif of the blond in the gold dress saying “yeah sure ok”. They are seeing it as the user being dismissive of them/or their valuable opinion and they dont like it. which as “gen x” I couldnt care less how they feel.
Let me help you, stupid meme spammer NOOB:

I recently took an online personality test mentioned by Jordan Peterson in a video. I scored top 1% in disagreeableness. :-)

Unfortunately those people likely have electric cars.
But if they could sit in the car and set the battery on fire they could pretend they were sacrificing themselves to Gaia.
Did the thread that was not posted exactly to your liking cause you indefinite harm when you could have easily ignored this thread completely?LoL! A NOOB defending his noobness stupidity.
I bet next time you will know to correctly post the author and date published.
You are welcome NOOB.
Solution is never use emojis. They’re really imprecise.
I think I would hire people who care more about the business than emojis.
I agree the thumbs up emoji can come off as passive aggressive. It’s the equivalent of responding to someone with “k”.
Not that it should be banned. But using emojis in the workplace probably not such a good idea anyway.
As an old baby boomer IDGAS what offends the limp-wristed XYZ generations. They can go boink themselves.

Not to worry, Gen Infinity will surely drive Gen Z up the wall with whatever they come up with.
“Thumbs up” is a POSITIVE sign, you bunch of chicken poop sissies!!!!!!!!!!!
